I think this is could be our seller

J Blake...........an employee of the company....13,030,638---------9%

I didnt spot an RNS stating that he had left the company but I am not sure of the rules regarding the position of an ex director selling a 9% stake...if that is his intention.I assume that if he is an ex director then an RNS would only be required as if he was an ordinary investor.

The 110k trade was certainly a purchase as have been other smaller purchases such as Mister Tibbs made around that price....but it hasnt shifted the share price and the offer has actually reduced in the past few days indicating to me that there is a larger seller..anyone disagree.

well, results in just over a week (15 January pencilled). Given the FD purchase at 11p this now looks increasingly attractive as a short term play as well as a long-term investment. THey have a dividend policy, and I expect around 0.2p for the six months.

Thank you MM. Much appreciated. I look forward to their comments on future prospects, given all the current uncertainty in the market. I wonder if some of those sales are folks comcerned about recent announcement on that old nugget called tax. Since this share has risen from 3p to near 19p at one point in such a short time, this type of share price movement should be expected, I suppose. So be it.

hvs....your commemt may have been a little more relevant on another thread me thinks, possibly SMC perhaps? I worked in banking when they were buying Estate Agents and even us little folk could see it was a mistake. At least AUK appear to stick to their onions. Interesting wee point is that their annual results hard copy was also translated into Russian. Investors over there or maybe just keeping the authorities happy? I found that very unusual for this size of company.

"So what's all this got to do with AUK. Frankly, nothing"....no but interesting nontheless MT...you seem to have a very well balanced attitude to life.

Results soon and then we can see if this company is all it appears to be from the limitations of being on the sidelines.Regards.

A lot private practices who sold at mouth watering price levels to SMC will now buy their practice back "AT A FRACTION OF WHAT THEY RECEIVED".

Money in the BANK , WADS of IT and INDEPENDENCE.

Isnt the CITY just GREAT ?

Reminds me of when the Insurance comapnies went for Estate Agents . Ah well its only other peoples money.

Might as well redistribute it to OUR CHUMS. All WHITE COLLAR mind.

MM....due to other homecare commitments these days, unable to go my most enjoyable of tasks, this being listening to my music and going for 6 mile walks whilst considering my share portfolio. Who said men can't multi-task. Can also have a pint, chat up women and discuss music as well. Previously held shares in Wiseman and have stuck to my 1% milk with the old cornflakes. So what's all this got to do with AUK. Frankly, nothing.

As a side issue, my own holding much larger than our shareclub. Purchase price yesterday was 10.55p, below the quoted mid price. That would therefore suggest what? I wonder. Always nice to see those involved hold a decent amount of shares and at least not received via share options only. They clearly stated at one point their different treatment of accounts as opposed to SMC, before their recent nonsense came to light. I believe it was at the interim results. Ready to be corrected on that point.

Well off-the-wall thinking is important in marketing but when it comes to finance then out-of-the-box straight line thinking is king. Too many share prices in AIM listed companies have suffered sudden, drastic falls when 'creative' accounting and valuation metrics were uncovered to reveal 'black holes'. Ever hear of a company called SMC !

Thats one way of looking at it...but there was other less tongue in cheek discussion on the subject which covered the topic. No one is disagreeing with your correct measure of p/e that is after tax. Other people though have their own way of doing a quick calculation without necessarily having knowledge of the tax position of these companies. This seems to offend your straight line thinking but it works for many.

Oh yeah - I completely forgot about the total number of KCF portions, Big Macs, Fish 'n Chips or was it Vindaloos that you could buy with your dividend (after tax of course) as the true formula for valuation !

Cant be bothered...Ham, we have had discussions regarding p/e ratios on this thread and I suggest you look back to the previous posts and make your own judgment as to the relative cheapness of this stock.Regards.

Where do you get a current year PER of 6 from ?

Projected pretax profits for the year are £2.3m and (less tax @30%) therefore the PER is just below 10. Also the cash position of £1.8m is partially offset by outstanding bank loans of £1.3m so it is not quite as significant as your post implies.

why auk only trading on p/e of just 6 with 1.8m cash and e/profits of 2.3 million

Great stuff MT....so employees and management appear still to hold a very high proportion of the company and the FD has recently added to that. This is what I had hoped. It does appear that the "free float" is relatively small and that is why these small sells have such an impact...as do the buys. Looking forward to the results and will feel more comfortable too when the new FD has signed them off...still dont have the full story on why the previous FD left in such a hurry but I guess if there was anything untoward we would have known by now. My biggest comfort factor apart from the constant succession of commission wins is the £2 million in the bank. Unlike SMC we do have the evidence to show we are making money real time and not just on paper.

So have you joined the rest of us on the yearly "lets get fit" resolution MT? Hope its non fat milk your using.

Thanks for that...I'm at work today and my system seems to have a problem in uploading the PDF file so I will have a look at it when I get home. Best day of the year to work with the market closed and no people in my office to bother me....having Friday off instead for a full day on the monitor.

Regards to all.

I have no idea if this is kept up to date ... Off their website .

Was just browsing and had to giggle as my missus works about a mile away from the Adnams warehouse . I only saw the top of it a couple of months ago coming out of Southwold/Reydon . The turf doesn't look too impressive but it is that time of year . Maybe in the spring ...

Interesting post MT...yes it was GFRD who bought Linden Homes....your memory is not so bad...I had forgotton about the Linden Homes bit in the trading statement.

Do you or anybody know who the major shreholders are in AUK...we are being brought down by small trades on small volume which suggests to me there is a seller on line although the 75k today was almost certainly a buy.

Yes marvelman, thought that development with Linden homes of great interest when stated in our trading update on 19.11.07 If memory serves me correctly, GFRD now own Linden homes who have entered into the renewals side of power generation with the construction of the largest windfarm in the UK in Eaglesham, Glasgow. Could be right up AUK street. Also, GFRD are now considering setting up Morrison housing in Scotland as they currently own Morrison construction, bought from AWG. They did not buy the housing division at that time and that is still owned by AWG, although I believe they now wish to sell that arm off. Could be interesting as the old Commonwealth games up here in 2014 will require housing for the participants. Only 6 years away now.

Memeory is slightly distorted at this time of year but I'm almost certain Linden was the house builder bought this year by GFRD.

Like you and that little piggy, I also hold RNWH and couldn't agree more. I topped up here recently and if I top anywhere, it would likely to be at RNWH. Will await news of them spending some of that cash on a decent acquisition.

I have done a fair bit of research on this company and it is my only holding apart from RNWH (another company on a low p/e and a large cash pile) which I have not reduced due to the current market uncertainty.

They have a very high profile in the industry and from what I have seen of their commissions win many prestigous awards and recognisions.

A good deal of the work they do tends to be in those areas in the leisure industry which are thriving and growing. In another financial climate these would be double the share price they are now but they are a clever company which has an astute management. Remember also that they have a thriving and fast growing business in Russia and eastern Europe whose economies are expanding.

Signing off for Christmas now and I wish all a prosperous New Year....with over £2 million in the their bank I can sleep soundly with my investment.

Another project guys (also recent) which you can also see on their own website. They were not kidding when they said they were getting strong orders but lets not forget they have over £2 million in the bank to contra any doubts about their strength on the balance sheet side.

This is a fair size file in PDF format
