Its a huge resource barely exploited or explored, it just takes time to prove up. AAZ are building up on various plant to exploit all aspects of the region, you don't add the equipment aaz have added unless you know whats to come.

On the basis of thirty years of Soviet exploration, Behre Dolbear summarised the resource as:"Since 1960, Soviet and Azeri exploration activity included mapping, sampling, trenching and underground exploration and Behre Dolbear believe the data generated by this work is generally reliable, reasonable and meets the criteria for Inferred Resources. In its summary of accessible ore resources, Behre Dolbear reports 2.4 million tonnes of copper, 7.2 million oz of gold and 28.1 million oz of silver. In addition, Behre Dolbear estimate that an additional 10 million tonnes of copper and 45 million oz of gold could potentially be present at the properties."

If you think that at the time of the IPO, this was valued at £76.4m ... When they only had the PSA & the properties but, no mine, no cashflow, nothing whatsoever

That's very interesting, the IPO mentioned a Micon report that had 7m oz for Gedebek, are you certain that 21M was for Gedebek?

Looking back a my old files from before the ipo when aaz was ottoman rvi , I see the old russian estimates where they did a massive amount of drilling trenching and digging of adits to explore had gedabek as a 21million oz resource , I guess they now need to flesh these other prospective areas out a bit more will be very interesting to see some newsflow from the digging they are doing now ...

Also interestingly he USD/JPY which is one of the key drivers of the paper price of gold is at critical support near 100. No doubt the boj will come in here but if it fails you'll see gold rocket up!

Nice rise in the price of gold today. All white noise though unless gold breaks $1,360
The great thing about this company is the free cash flow at these levels. It would be a winner even without the backdrop of a rising gold price.
10% rise in AAZ too, looking forward to the news-flow between now and Xmas.

Incidentally, some might look at the trajectory of the shares over the past six months and think they have missed the boat - not so, I reckon it has much further to run - a little consolidation was required, and this will allow a much steeper climb.

I rather carefully have reviewed this stock - as a result I have slowly been accumulating shares over the past fortnight. Assuming gold holds up, this should do very well indeed.

I will produce a detailed review over the next few days.

I don't think the pit will run out of copper ore for a long while, 10+ years on current Cu reserves alone. I expect the plan is to get copper production up to about 7000t/year through floatation expansion.

The story for gold is the potential upside, Gadir could be 1M oz plus and what else could they find in the 7km between Gedebek and the new Bittibulag deposit, noting that they are along strike from each other.

Shorts closing before the FOMC, I expect we'll see a big spike down just before the announcement and then assuming they hold a spike up to the 1340's.
