06/3/2013 17:10 | Tks Keith ...when do we get the finals ? From memory, I seem to recall mid April ...is that about right? | ignoble
06/3/2013 16:03 | February ended up the coldest for 20 years so should have given asy a boost. More good news....next week will be very cold with widespread frosts, and snow around. Don't think I can remember the last time when March actually helped them. Last year for instance pumps were doing badly due to the drought and it was a pretty warm month so this March should be significantly better. I'm hoping the trading statement at the finals will be very optimistic for the first half. | keithfox
26/2/2013 19:58 | Sykes Blog becoming technical...items regarding the need for chillers in both the plastic and chocolate industry ...interesting read | ignoble

08/2/2013 18:49 | Seconded ... | ignoble
08/2/2013 10:17 | Investali, you mention this good news coming. Firstly, how can someone be so sure and secondly, when? It's not good results as I am pretty sure what the second half will be like. With the pumps and Olympics they are going to be 'satisfactory'. It cant be anything to do with the excellent start they are having this year, as whoever this person is, wouldn't have known. So, whats left? The magic word 'takeover'! However, takeovers are never sure until they happen! Maybe a big payout/divi as they could afford 20 to 30p. All very intriguing but I think us hardcore investors will just be happy with the way things are going and with the steady build up of assets. | keithfox
07/2/2013 16:29 | It is very good news gentlemen but my Mrs can't stand this cold and her mood , well that's another story. Ali. | investali
07/2/2013 16:26 | Thank you Dear Sir ... | ignoble
07/2/2013 16:25 | Hello ignoble. Yes, the weather looks as though it will definitely be on the cold side. Next week will start very cold with some snow disruption. As quite often with our winters it is balanced very delicately but it does look as though it will stay pretty cold for the rest of the month, which is obviously very good for ASY. January ended up just a tad below average, temp wise but it comprised 2 weeks of very mild and 2 weeks of very cold, so thats good for ASY too. A cold February would suggest the best Jan/Feb they have had for a long time, especially as pumps are doing well too. | keithfox
07/2/2013 12:16 | Ignoble the weather forecast looks great , for ASY holders that is!! I see we have moved a tad today, i'm still told good news will be coming :-> | investali
06/2/2013 16:09 | Keith , if you are out there Had a look at the forecasts for Feb and early March ....looks to remain cold and at or below average temperatures ...would you agree ? I read the BBC and AccuWeather sights | ignoble
22/1/2013 21:16 | Thank you Ignoble, do i win a prize :-> | investali
21/1/2013 19:48 | and you got the 1000th post on the thread ! | ignoble
21/1/2013 19:40 | My heating had to be turned up, this weather is what we need keith and ignoble. Ali. | investali
17/1/2013 17:34 | Trick is to have enough asy shares to make the heating bills pall into insignificance! | keithfox
17/1/2013 17:26 | Tks Keith ...certainly cold ...hope Sykes pay a divi as speculated above . Need it to pay the ruddy heating bills | ignoble
17/1/2013 17:10 | Back to the weather and there will be some headline stuff over the weekend and it looks as though next week will stay very cold. That will be 2 weeks for ASY, thats as good as they have had for many, many years and will mean loads a money! Hopefuly, it will carry on after that but all looking good for asy. | keithfox
17/1/2013 13:17 | Still buying as per the last half year report and nothing has changed from the last stance as far as I can see:- The directors confirm that they intend to continue to actively pursue this policy and any shareholder who is considering taking advantage of the share buyback programme is invited to contact their broker, bank manager, solicitor, accountant or other independent financial advisor authorised under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000, in order to contact the group's NOMAD; WH Ireland Limited, 24 Martin Lane, London, EC4; who are operating the buyback programme on behalf of the company. | horndean eagle
17/1/2013 13:13 | B&L, Can you clarify whether the broker is not buying at this price or at this time? | cockerhoop
17/1/2013 12:46 | That has been done. The broker said they are not buying shares at the moment on behalf of the company. | bubbleandleek |
