The cold weather seems to be hitting the news and it's certainly look cold during the coming week. However, there are signs it may not last the all important run up to Xmas i.e. the week after next. More on that next week.

I added 500 just for a laugh. However, you are so right re the weather. I was waiting to firm up my ideas before saying too much but the charts are looking wintry right through December. A classic 'blocked' situation where the Atlantic mild stuff cant get through. It'll be fairly cold this week (some snow over London this morning) but the coldest weather will come in during next week. I think the snow/cold will start hitting the news later next week countrywide (its already newsworthy at times over Scotland). There will be a steady demand for heating (on top of the pumps and drying already experienced) by asy and will build up during the month. Much of it will stay out during xmas/new year which hasnt happened for a long time. That will give asy pretty steady business well into Jan which is good news. Hopefully it'll last longer but cant say yet.

Actually I don't mind as it gives me time to buy more without the price reflecting what has been happening.

One interesting thing I've noticed about this share is that it never reacts to helpful weather conditions. In the past we've had really hot summers which add millions to profits or cold spells in winter which also add hundreds of thousands to profits. The flooding thats going on at present is obviously doing asy no end of good and the predicted cold spell will help a lot too. No reaction in the share price though. The thing to look out for now is whether the cold spell will last until Xmas. There is normally a 2 week spell over xams when little happens. If asy get a lot of gear out before the Xmas break that adds another 2 weeks of good business to them at a time when not much happens normally.

You've no doubt seen news of floods etc. The charts for the next 5 or 6 days are as bad as I've seen in 40 years as a weather forecaster re potential for a lot of rain. Expect a lot more flooding in the next week and no doubt good trade for asy. Colder weather expected after that which could turn quite wintry, again good news for asy.

I noticed London Security got another dividend recently. Thats 2 they've declared in 6 months. Not fair! Unless we get another one next spring.

Won't make much difference to ASY but Aggreko should do some mega trade with their generators and it will go on long enough for them to bring some in from abroad. Their last results were down a bit but this should get them going again.

Wonder if all the awful flooding in the US could be of benefit to AmeriPumps which I believe is Sykes' US Division.
One based in Virginia and the other Tennesee if I understand it correctly
We never seem to hear mention of the US Division for whatever reason.
(DYOR etc & no advice intended etc)
