17/1/2013 07:35 | Only a few shares traded because there are only 4m actually in the market and I think many of us seem to be long termers. I was told by a broker once that 7m was the magic number, less than that and the shares can move far and fast (bith ways!). As for news, well they are motoring now and will be for the foreseeable future. Just phone na depot up and ask them if they are busy! Anyway, you came on here and said you were told not to miss 'it' etc, so we are waiting for your news to happen! | keithfox
16/1/2013 22:03 | Thanks Keithfox, it's like having my very own private forecaster. Didn't realise how few shares are traded here, lots of days with no trades at all. Any news to come soon? Ali. | investali
16/1/2013 21:34 | Tks as always , Keith ... | ignoble
16/1/2013 09:35 | I forgot to say....this cold spell will also help Belgium, Germany, Northern Italy and the Netherlands......... | keithfox
16/1/2013 08:10 | As far as this cold spell is concerned, its now loooking like widespread snow/disruption on Friday, followed by continuing cold weather through the following week. There was a lot of doubt about the following week, but it is beginning to firm up now, and it looks generally cold. As can be seen over East Anglia at present, once there is a decent snow cover the temperature goes into a spiral i.e. it gets colder and colder, especially at this time of year with little sun, and what there is gets reflected by the snow. Temps in East Anglis last night down to -13C because of the snow. With a countrywide snow cover over the weekend and into next week, nightime temps could go as low as -20C in places on the clearer nights. As long as ASY can deliver OK, they are going to do very well. | keithfox
14/1/2013 19:56 | Tks Keith... Interesting , as always | ignoble
14/1/2013 08:26 | Just to explain what fairly severe weather means to this compnay (either hot or cold). Everything is in place to cope with increasing demand; the infrastructure, the staff, the equipment etc. This means that extra demand goes pretty well straight to profit i.e. 'the icing on the cake' as one ASY employee used to say. Also, each week of 'severe' weather gets better. A lot of extra gear will go out this week with the weekly take being 'normal' + the extra hire for that week. The following week, if its still severe, will have a take of normal + week 1 extra hire + week 2 extra hire.....and so on. So every week the cold weather goes on the advantage to asy increases. Fingers crossed! Anyway, one week of severe weather is better than a lot of winters, so even 1 week is good. | keithfox
08/1/2013 17:05 | Latest charts showing cold weather/snow etc this weekend and next week...could be longer. Looking good for asy next week. | keithfox
08/1/2013 12:23 | Sounds impressive to me ...be even more impressive if my own net assets were increasing at the same rate , lol ! | ignoble
08/1/2013 10:17 | Still it's nice to know that the co's net assets are increasing by about £20,000 per day. That's all our money, sort of! Put like that, it's quite impressive! | keithfox
08/1/2013 10:02 | Understand your thoughts Keith , no doubt we will find out in the fullness of time ! Be nice to think we may leave 200p behind and advance to a new trading level this year...time will tell! Oh for a crystal ball ... | ignoble
08/1/2013 09:40 | Yes, there was a couple of big sales which helped keep the price down. Funny thing is there have been no buybacks for nearly a year now. Don't understand why people dont get onto the groups advisors to sell, as they would probably get a better price. The company obviously wants to cancel some more, so why cant they get hold of them? Don't understand. | keithfox
08/1/2013 08:20 | Thanks Keith, i got my shares as planned in January much cheaper than i thought i would. Ali. | investali
08/1/2013 08:02 | Back to the weather. After the short cold snap in Dec we really need some more cold weather to get things going. Looks like it will get colder over the weekend with a higher incidence of frost and next week is looking cold too. During the next week Europe will get very cold which means any flow from the east or northeast will bring very cold weather with it. It's all looking in the balance at the moment but there is potential for a very cold spell of weather to develop.....just potential at the moment! A few weeks of cold weather would set the group up for a good first half. Will update when it's looking more certain, either way. | keithfox
02/1/2013 18:57 | Good Read on the Sykes Blog regading Hurricane Sandy and how the Sykes US Division is involved . Happy New Year All... | ignoble
24/12/2012 13:14 | I think you need to investigate a new dealing account investali. They're not getting the best available prices for you. Not all stockbroking firms access all the marketmakers quoting for a company. The 2 brokers I use offer both online/telephone dealing but will also ring the MM directly with my instructions. Merry Christmas | cockerhoop
24/12/2012 11:40 | 2500 available at 214 if still interested investali | cockerhoop
24/12/2012 10:52 | A sale of 2x2500 this morning has brought the offer down a tad, now quoting 217 for 5k. | investali

21/12/2012 17:04 | As Ignoble often says, I'm not trying to ramp anything, and what I say is just my opinion! Any stock can go ti*s up but I'd prefer to be in this one than a lot of blue chips. I've spoken to the gaffers son and various directors and the company secretary, and I'm quite happy! No inside info of course. And the beauty of this company is........they spend on new equipment and have the staff to cope with high demand so any cold weather in winter or hot weather in summer just provides extra demand that is already catered for i.e. extra profits with no extra cost. If you look back over the last few years the winters have been generally mild (a few cold spells, ok), the summers have been generally cool and its been quite dry i.e. no help to ASY at all. The wet weather since April has helped the pumps but we still need some cold weather this winter (which I'm hoping for in January). The thing is, they have been producing good profits despite not being helped by the weather i.e. the only way is up! QED | keithfox
21/12/2012 16:47 | I see that now Keith, will try after the new year to get my other shares. This ASY has been very good to you Keith if it can be half as beneficial to me in 2013, if i can turn 25k into 32k and a new car with the proceeds well that's what friends are for. | investali
21/12/2012 16:37 | It took a big sale to knokh the share price back 1p, good sign. | keithfox |
