ebb my approach is always to do FA analysing P&L BS and cashflow statements first, that's my level one filter.

I like niche businesses with good BS's and strong cashflow and good margins. If i'm interested i then use TA which is my level two filteer if you like.

i use TA, particularly candlestick patterns and oscillators/indicators to determine my entry and exit points.

I used to be a pure fundamentalist but over the last few years i've been using these methods and it has improved my decision making process. I'm generally LTBH investor but in the current market where valuations are historically high for many companies i'm happy to trade the peaks/troughs and TA has been a good tool for that recently.

My past record in range bound markets was not that favourable, it's considerably better now. It's working for me anyway.

I've been watching AMS for a while now and the current chart pattern is strong so i've invested. I made my initial investment at the gap up in may (there was a strong reversal pattern) and now it's broken downtrend resistance i've added to my holding, it may yet bounce back down below the trendline we'll see. Nevertheless i like the business model so maybe the drops will become accumulation points.

yep made an intial purchase myself yesterday. Solid balance sheet and decent growth expectations. One to hold and add in this sideways market.

I suppose it'll need IC or whatever to move the share price on product news.
Better performance in Germany needed to cause a sea change.
Bought some more yesterday - I get a glow from not paying the government when buying AIM shares.
Thanks for keeping the thread alive JMF.

The way I see it... the Chairman has just spent over £62k of his own money buying AMS shares... he must be reasonably confident things are going well.

Thinking aloud.
Like the look of the management - been around a while and the reorganisation looks sensible.
New product coming this year.
Germany growth poor - can't see why.
Like the dedicated websites for the products and their medical users.
S&N competition.
Been through the finals again and the horses are not frightened.
Topped up today (6th purchase over the years).
PER not that high for type of company and sector perhaps, but not cheap.
Attractive holding for PIs and will always get a decent mention on AIM stock reviews.

Had to Bed and ISA my holding as its right on the Capital gains tax limit for the year. Tempted to walk away with a 12 bagger under my belt but haunted by ASC at 6p at the same time I bought these.

Is it a sustained breakout? That is the question.
Top sliced a few and let's see what happens.

Also appears they have had more success in the USA last year. If that continues and the expansion into new markets we could be in for a good year.

I'm still holding both. This imo is looking fully valued but there is always the hope of a takeover. Sun had a quick rise a few years ago but I am hopeful that long term it will come good.
