12/9/2014 10:05 | This share/company is a real plodder but with the good results just, I don't see any reason not to creep up to 130/5 even slightly higher in the next few months.
I think Woody is on the right track. It must be a chartists play. | eggbaconandbubble
10/9/2014 21:56 | Good set of results, nice increase in interim dividend.I'm in for the long term on this one. | john148
10/9/2014 11:14 | Note that some trades print on ISDX as it is cheaper for the market makers to report there.

10/9/2014 09:22 | Increase in cash another good indicator. | colsmith
10/9/2014 07:49 | The use of 'Constant currency' is pretty normal basis in financial reports and deals with the relevant currency fluctuations. Canaccord reaffirmed a hold on 8 Sept ahead of results.
Decent looking results, my only question is why the drop in bulk materials. | immokalee
10/9/2014 07:42 | Happy days. Just what we needed to see. | knighty0001
10/9/2014 07:41 | Agree good solid results, company commoditised; 20% compound growth was good while it lasted; GLA | norbus

10/9/2014 07:26 | Those results look ok at a quick glance. Lot of reference to 'constant currency' though. Liquiband appears to be doing alright in the US.

28/8/2014 18:40 | I had XAR years ago Woody, and had to sell them to afford a house - later they were always too expensive for my taste. I bought after the first drop and am a little surprised at the reaction to the interims, so bought again (a little profit after the second purchase).
Normally, I only average up :-)
A fellow researcher got a job at XAAR and reported well of the management, I have always been impressed by their technology.
If the weakness continues I shall increase again - I view XAR as being similar to RSW (another long term shareholding) in that they plough a large amount back into product and systems development and can benefit significantly in ways that the market cannot anticipate (I think they both have short order lead times too).
So, I am comfortable with not buying again in their heyday, although it would have been better to buy on the second drop!
I tend to look at candlestick graphs and short term emas as a guide, but I am not an adept.
Good luck with your timing.

XAR had some classic TA chart positions before both drops which were very strong indicators of the eventual outcome. (It's not appropriate to post them on this thread)I nearly bought a few times but thankfully the TA stopped me from doing so.
Hope it comes good for you, i'm watching it closely.

Having learned not to average down donkey's years ago, I am now
averaging down XAR, having bought after the last profit warning and
again today.

28/8/2014 13:18 | As APAD kindly pointed out it's not about confidence. I had built up quite a stake from the recent lows and had almost 10% percentage profit in the bag so i halved my holding.
Long term i think the business looks sound but i invest according to market conditions these days. Normally i'm LTBH and had i been in these from way back i most likely wouldn't have sold as i'd be sitting on a handsome profit and would most likely have looked to add on any weakness. I've kept a few stocks where i've been lucky to have seen similar growth and have moved in accordance with my LTBH strategy.
However as APAD again pointed out i'm also trading and at present any recent purchases that show signs of hitting resistance i'm either out or slicing. Preservation of capital in this choppy market is key to retaining and growing your assets.
APAD fwiw i used to only do LTBH my trading was also poor untill several years ago when i began to invest considerable time in learning and growing my TA skills, you can't trade without decent TA knowledge, which i've considerably improved in the last few years. Interestingly many investors think it's mumbo jumbo i can only say my results prove otherwise. Most who are critical have
little or no knowledge.
There are 4 stages in the invesment cycle all defined by the EMA position
stage 1 flat consolidation.... TA skills and trading
stage 2 growth uptrend.... LTBH for the length of the trend.
stage 3 consolidation before further uptrend or downtrend....TA
skills and trading
stage 4 downtrend....TA skills and shorting (which i have yet
to embark upon, my next challenge for this autumn)
Most sectors are currently in stage 3 and some in stage 4.
AMS is in stage 3 hence my trading
hope this helps understand my reasoning

27/8/2014 09:49 | 10th? 11th? I have not yet seen any notification of results date.
From memory they usually notify about 3 or 4 days prior.
