LONDON--The U.K. economy shrank by slightly less than previously
thought in the second quarter, according to a revised estimate
Wednesday.
Gross domestic product declined 19.8% April through June, the
Office for National Statistics said, compared with an earlier
estimate of a 20.4% fall.
That is still a larger decline than those recorded by its
European neighbors, reflecting the timing and duration of the
U.K.'s nationwide lockdown to combat coronavirus.
