GTA5 and all - Interesting thoughts - Must relook at old costed feasability studies to remind myself of AISC's to include fob at whichever port they decide to use/build and also gutfeel who will fund the port and at what cost. (Apologies for my terrble typing!!

If this ever gets the go ahead, Zioc I don't think will be part it, so who cares about construction time. (Maybe only future interest as a % royalty owner). I cannot see the any major (or state entity, esp China) wanting to piddle about with Zioc still involved. So either big bang sell or in the well known long grass again for the forseeable future, imo. A good gamble at this stupid mcap anyways I reckon..

Yes, and even more perversely the way I look at it is that ZIOC are currently more likely to survive this storm than I.e. Easyjet or British Airways..
look at their respective valuations and think about that for a moment...
Normally the state would jump in and support them, but considering that there will be 1000's of companies in dire need for support it's a gamble at best to be a shareholder in any of them. Suddenly my 10 to 1 odds in ZIOC feel pretty good -relatively speaking.

(does not take away from Pug's very valid point that the market and world economy is taking a substantial beating that will take years to recover from and hit entire sections of society very hard, surely including commodities like iron of course)

Either way, we got years to go until it all unfolds on the ground in Zanaga!

Indeed, Glencore is the key, without their willingness to budge this dead. So as you say, perversely the wrong time economically might actually be the right time fir this to sell out totally...

Pug,
I think you're right about the timeframes, but remember that;
-from the word "go" until you have stuff you can throw into a blast furnace-
you have a lead time of about 5 years, minimum. China knows this and they have cash and need to jumpstart everything, including securing assets and supply chains. (inc Iron ore/supply/price)
the counter argument to FUD is that if you ever want to get a project like this at a price and a country even more desperate for investment than usual, this could be the time to do it. Glencore might be more open to the idea to let the chinese in now that their shareprice has taken a beating, and Nguesso cannot fund his family's jetsetting lifestyle on 25USD/barrel oilprice alone anymore... This Covid might be the catalyst.
at 3-4P ZIOC still a steal, and all Trahar needs to do is get a couple of years money worth to keep it mothballed (worst case). They've been doing it quite well since 2014 anyway...

As with several other "speculative" investments I hold, recent events literally don't change a thing!Ulimately, the world will still need cheap iron ore. Just as Tanzania will need gas and.....in due course....the world will need to discover whether there are huge oil resources off Namibia.COVID-19 affects none of this....except by prising out other shareholders who have a pressing need to raise cash!In fact, a serious opportunist might think the current turmoil makes some sort of deal more likely rather than less!

My guess is that there are positive news coming. could be an offer or maybe even already sold:-) lets hope. I see huge upside possible here (and I am not taking 20-30, but 200-300). cross fingersObviously this poster is a complete Bell end judging by his outrageous post and poster name

Bought some today (not big) after a lot of agonizing. May get punished for my sins..But then again, at this stupid liw level, any smidgen of RNS'ed hope will bounce this upwards. But along shot gamble considering where the global economy is heading to.

Greenelf, you use the word "we" thought you sold out at 5p or have you dipped your toe back in? What are these speculations GTA? Have I missed something? Good luck all we certainly could do you some good news.......Sooty

Question is.. are we getting an update RNS tomorrow or early next week?? We are very near Q1 end. Is the rabbit going to be pulled from the hat or is the party balloon balloon going to deflate?? If the official tweeting is true at heart, it should be good...I fearly hope it has been honest in spirit and not just "pump".

This would be a good moment for Elphick to confirm that $2M loan to the company.
...just saying. (//rather than fanciful speculations on twitter by young Mr. Trahar)

I would suggest ORPH as a good investment, imo. My top pick, very promising. Research contract (no direct R & D cost risk) virology company. DYOR
