what a nasty insensitive piece of work you are,you may have a grudge against individuals but you could be a bit more sensitive and show respect to this persons close family.
Firstly the name will become common knowledge soon and until then show respect.

i like your question at 08:19, david, although i don’t know the answer.

common sense suggests that since a POCA order is about identifying
& controlling *assets* that may be proceeds of crime, [edit: & thereby
attempting to preserve prospects of meaningful restitution] rather than
about identifying & controlling an individual, POCA should remain in force
- since fairly obviously the death of an individual does not make any
difference as to whether or not those assets originated as proceeds of
crime. but common sense & the law are at best rather distant cousins.

If anyone has time on their hands they could check with the records at Southwark CC and see if all five did indeed appear in person on 17/11/22, as the judge instructed. I've not seen any coverage of that.

Entirely possible ill-health was a factor for one or more of the accused. Plus getting anywhere via train at the moment is pretty tough.

is that doug ware didn’t appear before the magistrates, only the other four.

? so maybe one of the five was already pretending to be a bit dead even then?

What happens when there's a POCA order (several of the five are subject to such orders) when a person passes away before they are convicted / exonerated? Do the assets get released to the estate of the deceased? Or does a judge make a ruling as to whether there is reasonable cause for the seizure to remain?

on the plus side, it would save the taxpayer a lot of money
if all five just topped themselves and left behind some notes
of apology and explanation. unlikely, but one can hope eh?

Has the Plea hearing taken place yet? The timeline would fit if Pleas are entered in March, and (unless all enter a Guilty plea) that then gives 18 months for preparation prior to the full Trial in Sept 2024. I know there was a hearing at Southwark Crown Court Nov last year, but there's been no statement as to any formal pleas being entered yet (was it a therefore a bail hearing?).

Yes, the Worthington fraud trail date is set for September next year David but I heard of an earlier court hearing mentioned for this March. Wonder if anyone has any details?
