Looking back over the posts written by researchanalystman makes me feel like watching a horror movie and knowing the ending ain't good for the innocent masses.

£8.2m in fees in 4 months, really? A very good reason for Woody to keep WEIF suspended another 6 months or so.

"Petulant arrogance" the best two-word description of Woody I've seen.

Woody......... can I offset these huge losses against all the multi millions I received from the equity income mugs?

Woody: ............ If I sell more WPCT shares I've got a huge tax loss to utilise.

Accountant: ....... Ermmm, just what gains have you made to set them off against?

Woody could also be slotting his remaining personal holding I guess ;) Perhaps another tax bill?

@SpectoAcc - or looking at all these delayed trades from Friday, Blackrock?

Edit: if it is WEIF then they've got no choice but to go for this type of sell-off as many as possible before the market is informed as confidence is going to completely collapse.

WEIF does need to sell WPCT. Link/FCA are telling Woodford to increase his cash in WEIF. I'm not sure why WPCT would be exempt apart from the obvious admission of failure selling it causes.

It should have been done some time ago and I sense Woodford is startign to lose control of his own destiny.

#10538. The first few years of WIM/WEIF were self-fulfilling in that the funds flow was so large he affected the price every day because he just bought the same stocks over and over. If they were going up he bought, thus increasing the NAV and they didn't fall because with the likes of Kier he soaked up everything the market was prepared to sell him.

I have no idea how BLND got to 690p looking at it now but I'm pretty sure in retrospect Woodford was kind enough to buy my shares off me at a vastly inflated price.

Imagine you had 10b of funds to invest and you invested it in as few as 50 stocks, with 90% of your funds being invested outside the FTSE 100, and another large lump outside the FTSE250. Entirely self-fulfilling, like a pyramid scheme, until the point the money coming in slows down and then stops.

On another note, whoever is selling WPCT today isn't a few PI's who've read the Sunday papers. Someone wants out and they are more focused on volume than price.

I think what we are seeing is just how many rules Invesco put around him (and their other fund managers) to ensure funds don't blow up due to reckless doubling, tripling and quadrupling etc. of positions. Also constraints about excessive weighting towards certain sectors.

We see now why he was frustrated at Invesco and also that without them he was nothing.

He seems to have a very strong confirmation bias issue. He really should start reading some books on behavioural investing. Below 40p.

woodford really is just a disaster zone. i feel for holders who cant get out. he really needs to be locked up for what he did.

Equity Income - i mean that is just laughable

It is my view the real issue is the following;

Woodford wants to re-open WEIF. That's to do with his psychology. It's also why he's not liquidating stuff he should be.

But is this evey possible whilst being fair to everyone? I don't think it is.

My guess is HL have such a large position they will force the end-game which I suspect will be that the fund is wound up over a number of years with annual distributions.

As for the investors that have lost. Well I can find you many many funds that have done as badly or worse than Woodford. And everyone including HL was at pains to point out he was a "contrarian" investor.

We've also got to remember that investors will have been advised to invest in a number of funds to spread their risk. If they've done that the losses won't look so bad.

This seems to be making the final push to oblivion. All about to get very newsworthy which will create ( more of ) a doom loop, wpct getting wound up and liquidated will cause everyone to want to clear out of weif the day it opens, why that idiot Woodford has been buying more instead of just building a war chest is beyond me, does he really think he has a business to salvage? His comments still seem to be total denial, as they have been for two years, I remember listening to him the day after Prothena tanked and I wondered if he was talking about the same company, its bizarre, like he has some mental illness. The fallout for HL will be huge, that story a long way to run, alot of very pixxed off investors writing to the FCA, what will weif really be worth, 40/50p at a push?? May open and have to close again straight away under weight of redemptions.

And there was I getting ready for the great Woodford sell-off in December...

I'm not surprising that commentators are beginning to feel it will remain gated because Woodford just doesn't seem to be raising cash on his most liquid stocks, like BUR.

Ooh my gosh! specto is soo sophisticated and educated! He can say things in French!! I mean, instead of "What a surprise!" he can say things like "Quelle surprise!". AND KNOW WHAT IT MEANS! That is soo clever. We are all incredibly in awe of your polished manner, if nothing else...

Did you go to finishing school instead of the University?

So he gates the fund and after 4 months it is down another 20%?

The guy should be arrested.

And still the FCA do nothing.
