09/10/2020 18:26 | WIN has a lot of food contracts involving import of goods.Any disruption on movements and availability will effect them but to what degree I would not like to say. | geraldus
09/10/2020 18:15 | geraldus: VOLVO has gone over the brexit thing before. I think VOLVO said lorry park thing does not affect WINs badly as our trade is internal to UK (and we used to own the lorry parks so we make money out of them - not sure if that is still the case - but if so we make money the more people who park their lorries). | netcurtains
09/10/2020 18:03 | Positive noises recently from the company are welcome and even with the pension defecit,it seems good value. The elephant in the room is the unknown effects of a Brexit no deal. This is going to weigh on the price and talk of several thousand lorries parked up in Kent wont do it any favours. It might be well run,but on thin margins.I will remain on the sidelines for now.Good luck to holders. | geraldus
09/10/2020 12:43 | A possible sign of a bounce. You tend to find people who are short (or sold too early) getting a bit tetchy if price not going their way (remember it was 224 last night). I'm not ssying price will rise quickly after the three or four 100K trades (I have no magic ball) but I feel a tad more confident. | netcurtains
09/10/2020 12:08 | PeteDoesn't take much to figure out who posts complete bull on here!.Watch out for those talking their book, either way.Good luck. | discodave45
09/10/2020 11:11 | Agreed discodave. Net told us had sold out weeks ago. I had posted I had sold out at 230p and he told me about momentum and value stocks. I bought in at sub 180 for value and future divi and he went off again, talking down, so I filtered him. | petewy
09/10/2020 10:05 | Hi netYeah right of course you did.In your own time chap, I'm in no hurry. | discodave45
09/10/2020 09:52 | I bought a few more.. Thats it for time being - I'm fully loaded in this share for a while. | netcurtains
09/10/2020 09:17 | Seen this before a few times Benn Bridge need to liquidate positions to raise cash for whatever reason. The house brokers will be looking to get new investors interested at an agreed price. I suggest that price is where we are today 210-215p. Need a big volume day, and once cleared the share price could fly over 250p to 300p. The news from Wincanton has been 100pc good since the shut down. dyor. | volvo
09/10/2020 09:13 | ...here they come, first 100,000 | volvo
09/10/2020 09:01 | You might want the Convoy song on as background music: | netcurtains

09/10/2020 08:49 | Added as well. | celeritas
09/10/2020 08:24 | Was it an automated trade? | discodave45
08/10/2020 21:47 | Hi net,'I think discodave45's share price is to knock stocks a bit on message boards before he buys them (I guess trying to see what comes lose). I find the best approach is to ignore him. It rarely ends well for people who say he is wrong (even if say it nicely). I can see why he does what he does but its not very pleasant for those already in the stock hence I ignore all input from him - it rarely if ever helps LONGs. Sorry to have to bring you this info.'You need to be corrected. I post up facts, I don't ramp nor do I deramp stocks. You are known throughout this site for ramping everything you hold and all because I proved your claims about Britbox to be complete and utter nonsense on the ITV thread you couldn't handle it and have resorted to slagging me off on here. Yes I post up things I'm concerned about to see if those who hold can help to eradicate my concerns with sound reasoning. It's not deramping it's called healthy debate and learning. If someone posts up something I don't agree with, or just not certain about it, then yes I will challenge them, as I expect to be challenged too.Sorry everyone for going off topic but had to defend myself from the accusations posted by this clueless imbecile. | discodave45
08/10/2020 16:53 | Agreed Sphere25: I wanted to buy more today but spread was too wide. | netcurtains
08/10/2020 15:47 | It's almost abit scummy the way this one has moved recently. You have this terrible wide spread (e.g. 213-223 today) from morning through alot of the day - this discourages buyers, had alot more selling today too. Then they come and bid it up later in the day with the bid hitting 220 and the price closing in auction up 3% at 224p. Chart looks like it wants to have a go at taking out that recent so should be interesting to see if this is the next leg higher up. The nature of the spread, participation and illiquid auctions makes it very hard to read though. That's partly why I'm just sat on all mine ha Folk have been selling this in the 180's, 190's, just over 200, today at 213-214 and it still keeps going higher! It would appear the trend is certainly your friend | sphere25
08/10/2020 12:52 | Hi Volvo£70m profit?Where did you see that, or how do you estimate that?Thanks | discodave45
08/10/2020 12:27 | Volvo you say "Wincanton was badly hit in the initial lockdown." They quickly changed the way the business ran, moving trucks made semi redundant to other contracts according to my info. I understand all managers have had their pay reinstated except for directors and higher managers. The RNS releases confirm that they are well back on track, I have been with Win since they were 60p and I have watched loss making contract end and lots of new contracts start. With regard to Pension lots of firms have big deficits and it seems manageable, very limited risk. Lets hope that after Tesco up date it allows other contacts once Waitrose up and running | mikedon1946 |
