People can't follow simple rules, this is what is causing a rise in Covid-19. Remember that in Feb - Mar, deaths started slowly then accelerated as it spread and took hold. The last two months, all these stupid people who had to have a holiday abroad or big parties, but mostly stupid people going out to pubs, in mass gatherings. It's not the youngsters who suffer, but their older members of family. All these businesses and council leaders who have been moaning about wanting the country to be opened up quickly,. Wash your hands, wear a mask and keep your distance.

That’s what I had in late March, my partner worked with a number of people who later
tested positive in hospital. As did notget tested can't be sure and
also don't recall loss of taste, it was mainly a completely wiped out feeling.

I guess the thing is, none of us know how our bodies will deal with Covid19 until we get it. I don't know or know of many people who have had Covid19, the one's that have thankfully survived having had the classic flu type symptoms, basically wiped out for a few days, which will probably be the case for over 95% of the population. If you're vulnerable, don't go out until there's a vaccine.

DM reporting the government considering a two week nationwide shut down
of pubs and restaurants, as a circuit breaker to prevent spiraling COVID cases

Some people will have a natural genetic predisposition that makes them vulnerable to become very sick or even die. They'd likely be healthy otherwise. The exact opposite scenario will also be true for sure.

I think you should not look and numbers per say, look at percentages of 'healthy' people (poor soles by the way) that have died of the virus.

It is very small. You might look at the percentage of people with diabetes that have died. Also check out the average age as well.

I have been touched by the virus so I am not some hard hearted fellow, I am however hopefully logical.

I'm sure a lot of those that died didn't have an unhealthy life .Many health and care workers died 540 .Having a decent lifestyle doesn't always save you .I was annoyed with a mate if mine saying the strong survive .Thats rubbish .

Essential, my wife is Swedish so I have a very good idea of the demographics and mentality of Swedish folk.

They have high densities of population in Stockholm, Malmo and Gothenberg. They have had 'hot spots' in those cities.

The crutial thing you are missing is that eventually you are going to have to accept that herd immunity is the only answer.

If you look at the recent figures from Sweden, one could surmise that they are close to achieving herd immunity.

By the way they only had one rule - no more than fifty people coming together. They had many suggestions mind, social distancing etc.

You can have great air quality, small households etc. however one day somebody with the virus will cough over you.

You can run but you cannot hide.

I say again we should have stuck with the Swedes and not listened to that Imperial College professor with his '500,000 people will die' paper which was not even pier group reviewed. Oh and he then did not stick by the lock down rules.

Finally, I am going to be polically incorrect - if you live a very unhealthy life what do you expect?

Very different population density in the UK.

Greater London alone has about double the entire Swedish population.

Approx 50% of the Swedish population live alone and I'm guessing the average
property size in Sweeden is considerably larger than in UK cities.

Sweeden also has some of the best air quality in Europe and significantly lower rates of obesity
than the UK. That will translate into lower rates of both blood pressure, heart disease and diabetes
and more efficient immune function.

In other words it's comparing chalk and cheese.

I would put a very large bet on that there will not be a two week national lock down.

'Big Boris' wants to eventually win another term (heaven help us if he is still leader), that means he cannot trash the economy any more than he has already done with the original lock down.

Should have stuck with the Swedes.

I've just seen they think there are at least 40000 infections a day and want a national 2 week total lockdown again .

This government MUST GO.

Yes, it's called Environmental Marxism. Also note that this will also hide from the general public blackouts caused by an over reliance on recoverable - but inconsistent - energy sources.and thereby hide governmental policy failures.

Government mulls emergency measures that would enable networks to SWITCH OFF your electricity without warning or compensation

I mentioned in July that if anyone was astute enough to buy near the March plunge
lows, it may be worth considering taking a few off the table - unless taking a long term view.

We are now down about 20% from those levels, although anyone who bought nesr the low may still be smiling.

And the CDC Director in the USA has just said that wearing masks is better than a vaccine

And cop what this WHO spokesman has just said

This is IMO now looking very grim for 2021

A Coronavirus world from now on ???

Some are now saying so -- and remember 4 other Coronaviruses are already with us now so this could be the 5th
