I would put a very large bet on that there will not be a two week national lock down.

'Big Boris' wants to eventually win another term (heaven help us if he is still leader), that means he cannot trash the economy any more than he has already done with the original lock down.

Should have stuck with the Swedes.

I've just seen they think there are at least 40000 infections a day and want a national 2 week total lockdown again .

This government MUST GO.

Yes, it's called Environmental Marxism. Also note that this will also hide from the general public blackouts caused by an over reliance on recoverable - but inconsistent - energy sources.and thereby hide governmental policy failures.

Government mulls emergency measures that would enable networks to SWITCH OFF your electricity without warning or compensation

The question is: will the rear bactrian hump be as bad as the sombrero?

It was harder to lose on anything after the march lows .

I mentioned in July that if anyone was astute enough to buy near the March plunge
lows, it may be worth considering taking a few off the table - unless taking a long term view.

We are now down about 20% from those levels, although anyone who bought nesr the low may still be smiling.

And the CDC Director in the USA has just said that wearing masks is better than a vaccine

And cop what this WHO spokesman has just said

This is IMO now looking very grim for 2021

A Coronavirus world from now on ???

Some are now saying so -- and remember 4 other Coronaviruses are already with us now so this could be the 5th

Don't like the sound of the North East situation bound to increase uncertainty.

Agree with Ignoble I think way to many people are getting tested and we have not even entered the flu season.

Boris has made mistakes but the deputy Labour leaders attack in the commons today was nasty and lacked substance.God help us if Corbyn had won.

Thats true until there are tests every week it cant be stopped .Thats why I think a lot of vulnerable people will choose not to go to hospitality venues in the winter months .

I agree the young ones off to house parties at 10pm .Illegal but can they control them .I dont see curfews working but all this frightens people into staying at home .

I am not sure that I understand all the Coronavirus Testing.
Fine, I may be tested and be negative, two weeks later, I might catch it but assume because I tested negative a week or two ago, I do not have it.
A negative test result may create a false sense of security.
Guess we should be tested every week but that is never going to happen.
Bit like an MOT on a car might pass today but in a weeks time the brakes could fail despite being fine when tested earlier

Still 3 hours in the Pub, just earlier...

It's becoming increasingly rife... again. That's a simple fact. We're at about 3% of the estimated infections at the peak of the epidemic. So, that sounds OK. But doubling every 8 days gives you 48% of peak in one month - 6 - 12 - 24 - 48. 96% after 2 months. We need to get off that curve to stop that trend from happening. . The government is reacting in a draconian manner because it lost the trust of the population who no longer practise common sense.

Britons 'face 10pm curfews and pubs could be forced to shut in just TWO WEEKS' unless Rule of Six brings down Covid cases - but schools WON'T shut
