16/5/2008 20:21 | Talk positive and continue as we are and its relegation. One point in 12 games was it Bring back Keith Burkenshaw | fullupfool
16/5/2008 15:43 | Very encouraging words recently though about a change of style to the type of passing game we started moving towards in the play offs. Cash in on Ellington, shift some of the dead wood, make a few decent signings and we could be in business next season. Rumours of a takeover still persist..... | pjb_1972
16/5/2008 15:22 | Well thats a disappointing end to the season. I'm still in favour of AB, in 3 seasons he taken us from beign close to relegation to the prem and back into the playoffs. Not great on style and has made PR gaffes but hopefully both with improve. Didn't want to go up anyway - Championship is much more competitive and who wants to get coshed everyweek by teams far richer than ours? | dr biotech
12/5/2008 23:53 | Geesz - did you hear what he had to say about the defeat just packasge him off..... | fullupfool
12/5/2008 13:29 | If Boothroyd stays on - its division one in 2009 | fullupfool
30/4/2008 21:02 | People buy football clubs to ingratiate themselves in a foreign community with a sizable population who will defend their position on their behalf. Scandals follow the owners of Chelsea and Man City etc., re how they earned their money and in the latter re criminal offences. Buying a football club is a protection method. | sicilian_kan
30/4/2008 20:01 | Not yet, but thats why people are interested! This is the same as QPR but better cos the ground has more flexability! Boothroyd should go, the bid will be successful, new players and a new manager will arrive for next season. If that does not happen, we'll be relagated! Id buy it cos the prize in the prem is huge, buy cheap, invest in players, get promotion....hey presto....worth a fortune!! | alexacj
30/4/2008 12:46 | You effectively need a 'brand' name with a football club which has a large overseas following. Then there is lots of potential to tap into it. Unfortunately you don't get that with Watford! | pjb_1972
30/4/2008 12:40 | According to the Watford Ob the buyers are Ukranian and/or Thai, so nothing to do with the current mob. I can't see why I'd buy it, other than as a fan. Clubs rarely make money and if they do you become unpopular as the fans want to see the profits on the pitch. | dr biotech
28/4/2008 22:19 | As usual I have to get you guys from talking about the games and thinking about your investment in WFC I suspect the bid is from the clubs biggest financial backer who wants total control and does not want to invest any more money for the benefit of the holders of WFC PLC, so he wants your shares If Watford get promoted he is not going to want to pay the silly price which will emerge on the morning afterl. He would probably prefer to lose in the playoffs as this would push the share price lower than it would go by failing to reach them He wants to pay 20p a share. News of his approach pushed the price too high. If they reach the playoff final sell then and bet with the bookies on them winning to console you if they win and the big price hike In any event consider selling immediately after promotion, on the next working day, or now He will also have an eye on delisting as a way to cut you out | mryesyes
28/4/2008 14:32 | At least Aidy has finally stopped all the ultra-positive stuff after every poor performance which was becoming so nausiating. For now anyway! | pjb_1972
27/4/2008 15:30 | Can't see us getting anyone better than AB. Yes the wheels have fallen off -whether that was the loss of Burkinshaw or Johnson (or less so King) I'm not sure. | dr biotech
27/4/2008 14:27 | I dont blame the players after seeing desicions, on of which is when being 2-0 down in the first half, the second half and after 60 mins he subs in two defenders. He also persists with Priskin, the game is still get the ball hoof it in the air ( apart from T Smith ) - totally not football | fullupfool
27/4/2008 00:24 | I blame the players personally. Totally spineless. I'm hoping we miss out on the play offs so as not to prolong the agony. | pjb_1972
26/4/2008 21:41 | Boothroyd must go now - losing against a relegated club like that. So obvious now that it was burkinshaw that got them the points and since Burkinshaw has left Watford have managaed only a few wins Time to Boot Boothy | fullupfool
25/4/2008 22:18 | Does anyone really invest in football clubs to make money? Come on the 'Orns!! | pjb_1972
25/4/2008 21:50 | what would the share price be if they can manage promotion in playoffs? | guman
25/4/2008 18:16 | lol...true... Though they are in League 1 so not prime takeover material, hence excluded from my calculations, plus are in trouble in League 1 too. | sicilian_kan
25/4/2008 14:22 | Probably just the board hyping up to get some options .... | fullupfool
25/4/2008 12:02 | Possible takeover RNS. | monis
10/4/2008 21:22 | Really we have been on relagation form since Xmas. Still I have my fingers crossed, hardly any of the top 6 are winning, except Hull | dr biotech
10/4/2008 13:01 | Even think next year we will get demoted ( yes - into league one if we dont make it to prem this year ) | fullupfool |
