The 30% spike the other week didn't last long, things will get worse before they get better. Manufacturing data came out this morning and painted a gloomy picture.

The next news will highlight the increased borrowings and no sales of any consequence. The decorating season is underway which starts in Spring, when the sun shines it shows the dirt and drab rooms.

Unfortunately most won't be decorating and having tradesmen in their homes or offices risking cross infection from coronavirus.

trt - don't know where you get your info from but it's wrong. WGB stopped selling anything other than samples and a small amount of paint online months ago. checkout their website at www.stylelibrary.com

The company not even launching "Spring Collections", there is no point when there is no demand!

I did warn WGB would be hit and the closure of the factories was predictable. The company is now in a net debt position which was also predictable.

Tradesmen aren't going into peoples homes spreading the virus which has hit trade. The last thing on peoples mind is decorating in a world financial crisis.

Foolish buyers were warned.

Paint sales have risen 13% in the last week as people have to stay home. Decorating is now the in thing. Online wallpaper sales have also risen. Press reports today.

All non essential shops to close and no more than two people allowed in a group. The police can fine people not complying with a minimum of £30 and up to £1,000

All clothes shops to close and if people can buy online they must do so.



Churches and mosques to close immediately.

Well it hasn't done and the more and more stores close and the more and more isolation and the less sales of the company products.

Contractors told to stay at home, no one wants a tradesman in their property when they may be infected with coronavirus.

I did warn Friday the share price would probably fall today.

The wages bill wont make a difference to WGB as they need sales they aren't closing the factory!!!

They are not in the pubs, cafeteria, leisure sector.

Very few stocks go down in a straight line and usually bounce at some stage but nothing material has changed in that the company has already warned on profits and doesn't need to say much more.

Remove the 10% spread and the average rise more like 20%-25%. Still not a bad rise but a profit isn't a profit until banked and the share price could be marked down before market opens Monday morning.

Longer term I reckon these will be ok. I have no position, but they are back on my watch lost. Lady Gnome loves the products, as do I - we have enough of them. Once the 12 week isolation period is over, assuming all gets back to normal, there will be a backlog of demand to kickstart things. The customers are wealthy people who will always have money.
