You've BT - EE, O2 - Virgin lots of fibre. Vodafone - 3. Only seems right they should amalgamate. I think the country would benefit it at the end of the day. IMHO

Vodafone and Three can cope without merger, says UK regulator

Detailed report published by the Competition and Markets Authority this week provides a damning assessment of some telco arguments.

Companies worth about £100 billion are on the way out of the London Stock Exchange so far this year, either by being bought up or via moving the main home for their shares overseas, and experts fear there is much more to come.4 days ago

Well it's pretty much the consensus that UK stocks are trading at least 30% under their EU and US Peers so if you think that has no relevance then that's your opinion.
The amount of bids happening well above the SP's and the exodus to other Bourses cannot be just a coincidence?
The loss of Pension Fund holdings from around 50% to almost nothing is the biggest factor imo. Other Bourses have 30-50% of domestic Pension Fund holding their stocks.
Fekin ridiculous!

They need to somehow get the Pension back on board. I think this is a main priority to stop the rot, anything else is helpful but not as crucial.
These days shareholders are shunned but property owners can do no wrong!

Luka back into a loss on his March £171K share purchase, now down £21K.

Stellar Fail needs to watch out, or she won't be getting a birthday card from him this year...

Abolish the 0.5% stamp duty on share purchases. It is a pernicious tax which has a material effect on UK equities. Most other countries don't charge it, and those that do charge a lower rate.

In the meantime, hanging on to 70p about as likely as a sounder of flying pigs...

If we get the merger with 3, the 4 billion buybacks start, and the paying down of debt all with the Spanish and Italian money. £1.00 by Christmas 2024.
