It's got a long way to go to get back to previous highs, let alone the price I paid for a top up last April, with no income since the Wilding special.

Why would you want them? Normally restricted to institutional buyers. Anyway, a good sign that they have secure debt facilities. The growth story is turning back on!

Why don't we get offered the bonds?

Sounded like good news to me.Shareholders need some gains now, not just the bond holders.

Disappointing that it's still going the wrong way.

I suspect that there is a feeling that consumer spending is slowing, and that durable goods can be put off until another day? Perhaps not specific to VCP, but they are in a sector that does not do well in downturns. Having read that RNS I appreciate that the managers know their market and know what they are doing to take their market share forward. I like that they have taken control of their debt with the bond issue, their 'cut to length' at the factory which reduces retailers need to hold lots of stock. I'm not too sure about the costs involved in them running their own distribution network, but it does give them total control over delivery timings. They intend to expand by nibbling away at small acquisitions, which I see as rightly cautious grand scale acquisitions often go wrong and costly when they do. I put it on my watch list, I like what the managers are doing, but at the moment dislike the sector, although there will likely be a short term lift to the flooring industry from the recent flooding.

I believe we should see a steady rise from now on, with the prospect of more good news in the near future.Mr Wilding is still there so he must be confident.

That was my reaction and I expected the price to shoot up this morning but it has done the opposite. Why are we back to the March price?

The report is well worth reading, a lot of information about the industry as well as the company. They seem to be doing all the right things and know where they are going.

The global economy is slowing. Australia is poor, the UK is flat-lining and Europe also. All these economies are interconnected. Anyway, carpet and flooring doesn't do too badly in a recession and so profitability should hold up reasonably well.

Look back to how this company coped in 2008 and subsequent years. Growth might have slowed but it continued even when others were falling. They now have an international footprint so are not affected by UK slowing as they would have been in the past. I am hoping and expecting good results next week.
