There will be something else to link hopefully this week. A date potentially allows that but having tracked it all I see no reason for anything to stop it.

With the presentation/ investor event Thursday evening it would fit very nicely for that. Funds present too with managers they may never have looked at graphene let alone VRS.

And.. on the same page...

"Directa Plus, a producer and supplier of graphene-based products, has announced that Colmar, the high-end sportswear company, has launched a new collection of ski jackets containing the Company’s graphene-based products."

Fishing rods, ski jackets... whatever next :)

Regards to all

handy, I have a Board Meeting in the evening otherwise I'd love to get to the presentation.

Is anyone from here going ??

Best wishes - Mike

I think it's only a question of time before the herd arrive.
Thursday will draw some attention, I'm sure.
This is well under the radar at the moment, and the fact that UoM and UoC have retained a 15% interest speaks volumes,
not to mention UoM accepting premium payment.

Been tempted myself just wondering if it will break out when some things appear.

Picked up another 5k. at 12.45p. at 15:07.
Tried all kinds of combinations, but just couldn't get them at 12.10p., which leads me to suspect that the previous 12.10p. trades were sells.

Winters off the offer and on the bid so no clear supply from them.

Just Peel left on the offer now. If we get some news or events to kick off some volume that should tell us whether shares are tight.

Interesting articles on graphene inks.

And . . . . . .

I questioned the luck of dropping on the ulster tech and other tech. With 25,000 papers per year you are either in the knowledge grapevine or you aren't.

I've trawled the web so had a htf moment as you can't be that lucky.

So on that point I believe after a chat things like the ulster tech found VRS.
In other words he and his team are well thought of and are considered an effective enthusiastic capable team with the skills to turn great ideas into a business.

No surprise then that all involved prefer a stake in the tech and business rather than cash.

It's the entire picture of all aspects that attracts me and they are very well connected in the small business sector.

well spotted (as usual sg ;0).
Re your link above:
Seems clear that NR knows exactly what's going on behind the scenes, hence his acquisition of Cambridge Graphene who supply graphene inks!

The man really does seem to be a genius at spotting commercial opportunities ahead of the pack.

Best wishes - Mike

There is a random VRS comment that I never mentioned from the open day as I was in composites enhancements mode and didn't fully appreciate the possible implications until ink and cap-xx have caught my attention.

It was something like this.

"Our GNPs are performing really well for electrical conductivity where others don't perform, why there is such a difference is not fully known yet"

Plastics, peek and composites mode didn't have me thinking about the battery side at the time.

Hunting around after noting investor interest in super capacitors (cap-xx) I found details of the start if the study at the Warwick group.

Bits that caught my attention

Research activities are targeted at identifying the choice and quality of graphene,

Hmm they partnered with VRS but more interesting considering the recent acquisition is graphene inks.

Agreed superg, you were never convinced on IDP, I remain on the sidelines there but only because of valuation.

Sorry O/T

Sorry Che didn't know you were looking. You know my view in theory it should be a quick novelty just like the ones before it and then it will sit among the pack. It did capture the herd's imagination though

Tyra have tried launching their own quite ground-breaking products but the main issue is knowledge of the products advertising is so expensive. Brand power is absent.

I thought Bytrol were mad to put their superior product into Tesco's. Margins would be so low and consumer assumption of an inferior product.

VRS In theory chance of some info this week and action as certain dates kick in over the next few days. Something that has been sat in a dark corner on the web for about the last 2 months.

Thanks KLF it's nice to find someone knows of them and passes on knowledge.

I hadn't looked deeply enough yet to spot the carbon nano tubes bit which makes it all the more interesting re the link up between WMG and VRS. As far as I recall GNPs give better results generally than CNTs so time to look that up.

It is nice to be in at the start of something that so much potential, the future looks very near term now that VRS have proven their production capabilities, should be a straightforward sell with the tech underpinned by NGI, UOM and C, it's all getting quite exciting as stressed in the update.

Some of that news about WMG just last month with Jaguar mentioned too.

On the WMG site

WMG's Energy Innovation Centre provides a one-stop-shop for the development of new battery chemistries from concept through to full proven traction batteries, produced in sufficient quantities for detailed industrial evaluation in target applications.

Research is currently focused on the immediate priority of developing cheaper, higher energy density, safer batteries. We have recently been awarded £20m as part of the UK Government’s £60m Energy Research Accelerator (ERA) programme which will significantly expand our EIC facilities. ERA Research at WMG will support innovation and growth in the automotive sector, by enabling technologies in energy storage and energy machines, drives and systems. Particular areas of focus are: new battery chemistries, electro mechanical behaviour, second life applications, super-capacitors and high rate chemistries.

AIM herd shares.

We all know gold, oil and miners get them going, even that junk skinny tan. I have noted from time to time batteries and the like get them going too.

As mentioned RED (power storage) has had big interest but the company has a poor history nonetheless the herd like it.

Next up is CAP-XX for it's supercapcitor. The herd goes mad but I've read plenty about such things and yes I think they are great especially things like Zapp and go.

I picked up on these very recently after deciding to look at what BBs or shares were active and why etc

Basically that's a power pack to charge your mobile devices. The huge difference is instead of waiting hours for the power pack to charge it does so in 5 minutes.

Now I know Zapp were looking for graphene enhanced versions.

NGI page on the topic and the video gives a quick insight with some interesting potential.

Now I've only just starting looking at RED and CAP-XX but it was with VRS in mind after seeing all the heavy interest in both shares.

As posted here before WMG stated they believed they were the currently slightly ahead worldwide re the next battery 80% better than current tech.

We can only wonder if that is graphene based advances or it's tech that is years in the making and graphene enhanced will follow.

But this is what the VRS WMG news says.

Versarien plc (AIM: VRS), the AIM quoted advanced engineering materials group is pleased to announce it has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding ("MOU") with WMG ("Warwick Manufacturing Group") to collaborate on the production of power storage devices such as batteries and supercapacitors using Versarien's graphene nano platelets.

In the field of batteries, conventional battery electrode materials can be significantly improved when enhanced with graphene. The use of graphene can allow the production of batteries that are lighter, more durable and suitable for high capacity energy storage, as well as shortening charging times. In addition, the combined use of graphene enhanced batteries and graphene enhanced supercapacitors, which charge and discharge much faster than a battery, could yield substantial benefits in applications such as electric vehicles.
