09/10/2019 12:53 | I always make sure of my facts Ian, so pleased regarding John Goodenough as was only pointing it out to Soilderboy yesterday, would have been awful if it had been a posthumous award. | ![]() luckyorange
09/10/2019 12:41 | "Well if you keep talking it down your bestie will keep selling Ian, he sold another 25k this morning ;-)" Fest has denied it and I certainly didn't sell 25k this morning or indeed at any other time. I can't think of any reason Fest should lie - but I can think of many reasons YOU might lie. Or if you didn't mean Fest and you didn't mean me, who *did* you mean? | ![]() club sandwich

At last John Goodenough gets the recognition he deserves "The 2019 Nobel Prize in Chemistry has been awarded to John Goodenough, Stanley Whittingham and Akira Yoshino. The trio of scientists won for their work on developing rechargeable lithium-ion batteries, which are used in everything from smartphones to pacemakers. At 97-years-old, Professor Goodenough from the US is the oldest ever Nobel laureate. The announcement was made at the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences on Wednesday morning, with the winners awarded a share of the nine million Swedish Kroner (£740,000) prize money. | ![]() luckyorange

09/10/2019 12:03 | Compound: We found graphene being used in nanotube form in Mackenzie salmon rods hxxps://www.mackenzi Very nice and quite minty at a grand a pop. However, this is of little use if you fall into a fast flowing river and let go of it, as happened to a friend during this year's Summer run. He then found out that oddly his sporting kit was only insured whilst not in use. Didn't we laugh in the bar that night though..... As it happened one of the ghillies found the butt section in a pool a couple of weeks later so not a total write-off. oops, almost O/T. | chumbo
09/10/2019 12:00 | thanks 66seq. The eight countries in which Insertec have a presence are apparently Russia, China, France, Spain, Mexico, Germany, Italy and Brazil. I've not yet seen where they rank among world makers of industrial furnaces. | ![]() grabster

09/10/2019 11:45 | laginaneil - carbon nanotubes are not in VRS portfolio. They have been discussed briefly elsewhere on this thread some time ago. They have recycling issues in both toxicity and handling (due to their needle-like form which will easily penetrate some things they come into contact with). However another article on that site you found references GNPs, inks and molybdenum disulphide, all of which are in VRS portfolio, being important to the successful development of perovskite PV panels.
