07/10/2019 12:11 | Log - you are usually pretty good at talking down companies with bent truths, lies and fear but this attempt is really quite poor. 'BIGT haven't got a website, I'm telling mummy' LOL. Further proves the case against Versarien is running on fumes. If this really is the best you can do I would highly recommend shorters take this absolute gift of a share price to close and leave the company in peace to thrive and change the world. | rogerthegrouch

07/10/2019 11:19 | Unilever has pledged to halve its use of newly made plastic by 2025, creating more reusable bottles and finding other alternative materials. The company is currently responsible for producing 700,000 tons of new plastic a year. CEO Alan Jope maintains that plastic is still a "terrific material," saying many of its alternatives are worse: "A hysterical move to glass may be trendy but it would have a dreadful impact on the carbon footprint of packaging." Is VRS involved????? | ![]() anley

07/10/2019 10:21 | Let's remind ourselves of the narratives in the annual report re the updates on the 2 global consumer goods collaborations: Nov 17 collaboration...... Blow moulded bottle samples were successfully produced at customer facility. Samples currently being tested and assessed at customer facility and WMG. A new agreement has also been signed with a separate division of this company. The agreement will focus on the development of flexible packaging solutions and seek to utilise graphene properties in new and existing packaging. May 18 collaboration....... Initial testing at limited loadings showed a demonstrable improvement in potential use of plastics. Targets have now been set to achieve significant reductions in plastics use. Further development in bottle design and weight/percentage loadings has now commenced. | ![]() melf

07/10/2019 10:12 | Some of you may remember that I once specifically asked Ricketts on Twitter how much nanene a Unilever-sized company might require. His answer? 600T. Of course that's not all going to be placed in one order at the same time, the amount needed might have changed since then (up or down) - and it was only ever a finger-in-the-air estimate anyway. Worth repeating, though... | ![]() club sandwich

07/10/2019 10:06 | Good morning Evergreen, The bit were you say Solidia does not reduce the '..massive volume of CO2 that is produced during the Cement production process.' may be in error - see below. Solidia say: 'Its cement mixture and curing process can cut CO2 emissions by up to 70 percent.' Their process to make CEMENT. 1. They use 50:50 mix limestone & sand into kiln. 2. They run the kiln at 1200 deg C (normally 1500) = 30% less energy ! 3. The kiln gives of 40% less Co2 ! which is REUSED in the next process. 4. This also gives MORE cement for same inputs. Their process to make concrete out of the cement. 1. Use the Co2 from above INSTEAD of water to mix concrete. = NO WATER used ! 2. The Co2 is 'trapped' in the concrete = 20 to 30% further Co2 reduction. Water saving middle east is BIG plus! This is how I interpret what they say but I am no expert. Now add Nanene as well = super super concrete ? | ![]() laginaneil

07/10/2019 08:39 | And here’s the actual Unilever press release: Some killer phrases in there: “Our starting point has to be design, reducing the amount of plastic we use...” Their collaboration with VRS surely features in this part of their programme. And in this one... “Since 2017, Unilever has been transforming its approach to plastic packaging through its ‘Less, Better, No’ plastic framework. Through ‘Less Plastic’ Unilever has explored new ways of packaging and delivering products” Remind me Woody, what was the date of our collabs with a Fortune 100 consumer goods group (No’s 8&9 in your list above). 17 Nov 2017! Tick tock! | ![]() shavian |
