Totally irrelevant charo (and spelt wrong). Versarien is not working with them.
Cogeco Peer 1 was taken over by Digital Colony a few weeks ago.

Would-be detractors really are getting sloppier and sloppier. Difficult to fathom why they bother any more, now that the story here is so convincingly strong.

Dr AndrewD - Typically a drilling rig is contracted by an oil company from a drilling contractor who will also supply the drill pipe. Bottom hole assembly drilling components including drill bits would be supplied by 3rd party contractors along with specialist personnel. All drilling components are subjected to detailed inspection, service and repair prior to / after use. The ideal is to drill each hole section in one run without any downhole failures of drilling or logging tools or the bit wearing out. The downhole environment is often harsh, corrosive and abrasive and wear and tear to drilling tools can be severe often leading to write off. The cost of a round trip to change a failed component can be severe and a ‘twist off’, where the drill string parts leaving components downhole can be very severe involving sometimes days of ‘fishing’;. I have personally seen a ‘fish’ worth £2million (multiple complex logging whilst drilling tools) left down hole, cemented over and sidetracked around. The stakes can be enormous, particularly offshore.

Morning Superg1

"On that point its so nice to know that all the 100's of posts debating what few layer means v multi-layer is now a thing of the past for VRS investors"

GNP-HP is Multi layered graphene that contains upto 27% graphite,
It would appear that larger lateral size of the graphene is the key, not the smallest number of layers,

I think this development is fantastic news for the Graphene market,

Susan's appointment also looks good.

@harrysol I have no investment in Versarien,

My guess is that all those billionaires Neill was pitching to wanted to see some more solid corporate governance in first. So Neill is delivering. Despite believing Patrick to be innocent, I am glad Neill & co had the nads to put him out of the picture because it pulled up a big red flag for large investors (and that Patrick left so graciously of course). Fingers crossed for a Chair soon. They're all extra mouths to feed of course but I can't see our CFO loosening the purse strings on a £hayd level.

I just looked up the CVD graphene price post for some fun to give you an idea of how expensive CVD graphene is.

CVD is typically a layer layer sheet of graphene synthetically created on a substrate.

1cm2, 3 cm2 etc.

So when someone says they have a cheaper version for CVD be ware of the typical price.

EG is price taken for a supplier site and is a typical price demonstrated that 1 gram of CVD would come to $670 million.

CVD is an entirely different specialist market. VRS can and do produce it BTW for whoever wants in but not 3 tonnes per day. That mass market is years off, perhaps decades in computer chip terms.

Perfect CVD is very difficult to produce. Perfect requires no faults in any of the hexagonal lattices. Most stuff out there is for experiments and isn't perfect.

I thought was worth sharing posted by Cyber on another share.

Hernando never mind that. Just a couple of years ago I bought 100k VRS at 10p and sold out at 16p on the way down from 20p... Not lack of belief but a foolish lack of patience... which is another investing sin (apart from fear and greed)...

6 or 7 years ago I bought 11M shares in Leni Oil and Gas (LGO, an oil minnow) investing most of my portfolio at that time. I owned 1% of the company, at an average of 0.25p. A couple of months later it touched 2p but did I sell? Yes about 25%, so I made a profit overall... but I was too greedy and the rest went down the toilet.

4 years ago I bought 700,000 AAZ at 6p and despite everyone knowing that there was a large seller in the market, I was going through a severely stressful time in my private life and panicked when it spiked below 3p and sold out in fear.... Took a big loss. 4 years later it's at 130p.

Even Paul Scott the experienced investor and stocks commentator often relates the time when he bought 300k ASC at 3p and sold them at 9p thinking he'd done really well. 10 years later they hit 7,000p.

The confluence of greed, fear, lack of patience and lack of vision is what drives the stock market (plus a bit of insider info of course). Anyone who can master these emotions and/or understand/know what's happening can make a fortune... from the majority (like me) who can't.

Good luck to all...

Cogeco Peer 1 is (or was) a subsidiary of Cogeco Communications Inc.
I don't know if Susan Bowen's mentoring influence (encouraging and inspiring women to fulfil their ambitions) has any bearing on the structure of the senior company - or whether its existing structure is part of what appealed to her - but six of its ten directors are women.

Welcome Susan. Good to see another good Welsh name on the board. (Bowen = ap Owen). Particularly pleased as I have Bowens in my family tree. Are we by any chance related?

Dr Andrew

My suspicions are HP does the job hence no need to go for Nanene.

HP as pointed out long ago is the 'waste' from producing Nanene. That waste is far better quality than what many combines have been parading as graphene.

On that point its so nice to know that all the 100's of posts debating what few layer means v multi-layer isnow a thing of the past for VRS investors.

The crooks still don't get it. BUT you have to realise that getting it is not the point. Their entire plan revolves around spreading as much misinformation as they can.

Congratulations to the team for getting multi kg sales.

This is one VRS area I have no prior knowledge of, but it looks like an ideal application which can support a premium price for graphene.

As the RNS talks about drilling I would assume the market opportunity relates to the number of drilling rigs in use, currently at 967 for the US rather than producing wells:

My hypothesis is that this relates to components in the drilling head, the mud motor for example includes an elastomer where you might imagine that increased strength and improved thermal properties might help.

If the motor breaks then it might take a few hours and up to a day to replace depending how deep the well is (multiple km) which costs a lot. So if this proves to be the best material for the job and has a notable reduction in failure rates then it should be possible to charge a premium. How big a premium will be the question.

A couple of thoughts and questions:
- why did they choose GNP-HP rather than Nanene, is that due to cost or another reason?
- how sure can we be that GNP-HP will work better than other materials on the market?
- how often are the motors replaced? Several times a year would give larger scope for sales.

Assuming that field tests go well, then this could be a nice little earner for VRS. I hope it goes well for all Investors

Will try and dip me toe back in on open. I had set the unusual proviso that I would take an order that I could not lift to get me to invest again but have a dodgy back so will not test! Still uncertain re cost, unit profit, big 5 etc. This order was a little bit left field but hopefully shows NR has recruited team with more deal focus. Hopefully these points will become clearer and I can add a little more.
