Fest, debate and facts are welcome, but you made no attempt to do so, just innuendo and negativity.

As Woody said, the situation has changed for the better, and if you spent as much time reading this board as you do posting on it then you would know that :)

"some kind of academic collaboration announcement"
I think we would all prefer a commercial one.

Fest, it has been explained many times over that following the Jinan collaboration many other provinces and companies expressed an interest which for obvious reasons presented the company with many more opportunities thus complicating the initial agreement.

The situation got better so no need for negativity at all.

I'm not sure it's relentless negativity to point out that a major venture which was fanfared well over a year ago, to podcasts and interviews, together with outlandish claims of being up and running by June has not materialised over a year later?

More relentless negativity from you, Fest. The IOF situation getting you down?

It's taken a year and four months, so far, for those T's to be crossed and I's to be dotted with the Jinan venture.Hmm.

What I remember is Zina Jarrahi Cinker tweeting that there was going to be a big announcement, before the summit was fully announced, which turned out to be the Graphene Summit itself.

I am not expecting VRS to make a big announcement to coincide with the Summit, just like I wasn't expecting it at the AGM last year. The timing is too "neat", and it will happen when it happens.

Does anyone else remember reading that there was going to be a "significant announcement at the American Graphene summit" on May 21/22nd.? Who it was referring to I don't know.

China has the long term whip hand here over Trump. Only Trump has to stand for election and China can withstand pressure more easily. Read the Bloomberg articles on the subject.

"We get some kind of weather here every day", as the saying goes. Same applies to political turbulence; there's always something. Good businesses find a way through.

I don't waste time theorising about how various scenarios might produce various outcomes and fretting over them. Got too many other things to do. ;-)

The geopolitical landscape is all over the place.

No one can accurately call it, not least because the impulsive Trump's only constant is that he constantly changes his mind.

Ironically almost any outcome USA/China could suit VRS one way or the other.

Prepare for turbulence.

Sock it to them Neill.

We'll deal with both. Some end products may sell less in years ahead. But a Chinese train or the tunnels it uses will be well short of any issue with the US. Likewise if Boeing produce light kit it'll sell in the market .Hope that's not naive optimism .

Re 2D materials; I think it boils down to this - if want something badly enough, you make special allowances/provisions for it. This usa summit is further confirmation that graphene and graphene based products are coming of age. Confident vrs well placed. Good luck neill and co next 2 days. Aimo. Best ellis

I agree Shavian, the US/China situation is a potential threat to the VRS deals with China. I have always been worried about our IPR in dealing with them and, if only a tiny element of the US Huawei allegations are true, we could loose IPR and not even know it was happening or even be able to prove that it had happened. That is why I liked the 15% stake approach from BIGT - money up front. But then, how would the US react to that? Oh what a complex game this is. It makes Neill even more impressive as he picks his way through it. Hopefully with success!
