18/3/2019 00:51 | I’ve looked at the recent youtube video (thanks to spid81 #64008 today for posting the link to it) showing Warwick Grigor (WG) of First Graphene (FGR) being questioned on a German mining investment website goldinvest.de. An investment in any microcap penny stock listed on the Australian stockmarket is just not for me – it’s just too time consuming as a UK resident PI to monitor and work through the cultural differences. I pass no judgement on the truth or otherwise of what WG claims but I think it’s good news that he expects FGR to have a run rate of cash neutral by end of this year and to generate significant positive EBITDA from 2021. I much prefer to hold VRS which is based at nearby Cheltenham on my time zone. As I hold, I obviously believe in its story and potential. But as I tried to point out previously at post #62032, the case for investment in VRS can only be weakened when all of the other companies in the graphite/graphene space are making heavy losses. If that story and potential are as good as we bulls believe then there will be plenty of profits to go round and I don’t begrudge FGR making some of them (as well as VRS making them of course!!) though FWIW I see VRS and FGR as being in different segments of the graphite/ graphene space. | ![]() campbed

17/3/2019 19:39 | Ax There are things that go on and VRS listed in places where you wouldn't think to look (me included), so what you do then is try to take action (already started) to shut the crooked doors. ;-) | ![]() superg1
17/3/2019 19:28 | I've dropped my subscription to Investors('?) Chronicle long ago, but reluctantly forked out a fiver for the current issue's cover story: "Short Circuit - Why investors should learn to love short selling...in the aftermath of Carillion's collapse and a ban on shorting the stock of Germany company Wirecard, should we worry about short selling, or embrace the practice as an important component of efficient markets and price discovery?" Haven't read it yet. Anyone care to post the online content? Any clues on 'price discovery'? Super might need a dose of smelling salts... | ![]() axotyl

17/3/2019 16:49 | Just stumbled across this speech given by Professor Lord Bhattacharyya, the chairman of The Warwick Manufacturing Group at the Cotswold Life Engineering Manufacturing Awards Ceremony in Sept 2015 .... "Or take Versarien, nominated in three categories tonight. Versarien is taking one of the most advanced materials ever discovered by British science, Graphene, and commercialising it. With their market knowledge and capability, they’re giving business life to advances in carbon nanotechnology. Just this month, they were granted a US patent for their volume graphene platelet production process, which will help the UK economy profit from UK science. That’s exactly the sort of commercial application of academic research I founded Warwick Manufacturing Group to encourage and support. ".... | ![]() woodpeckers

17/3/2019 15:53 | Looks win/win/win to me. UoM a shareholder in vrs btw. Aimo. Best ellis 'Tunghsu Optoelectronic Forms Graphene Alliances With Manchester Uni, Versarien' TANG SHIHUA DATE : NOV 12 2018/SOURCE : YICAI "Yicai Global) Nov. 12 -- Tunghsu Optoelectronic Technology, China's largest maker of liquid crystal glass substrates, has set up two partnerships to develop graphene technology and outline its commercial application. Tunghsu Optoelectronic signed a memorandum of understanding with the UK's University of Manchester and Hong Kong's University Graphene to Market, or UG2M, as well as a separate MoU with British listed materials maker Versarien, the Hebei province-based company said yesterday. Tunghsu will cooperate with the University of Manchester and UG2M, a graphene technology startup under the university, to evaluate the school's graphene and other related technologies and jointly plan how to make money from them. They will also coordinate resources to promote the industrialization of the university's graphene technology in China. Meanwhile, the Chinese company and Versarien will jointly develop projects based on graphene, including operations, implementation, industrialization and project upgrading, to sell and explore more products that can use graphene in China and global markets. "China has a huge market potential for graphene industrialization and commercialization," according to Tunghsu Chairman and Chief Executive Lipeng Wang. "As the leading enterprise in the graphene field in China, we are very pleased to work with Versarien to promote valuable collaboration and innovation, and ultimately achieve mutual success." To accelerate commercialization, Tunghsu and Versarien&n The two will further explore the feasibility of a bilateral strategic investment plan based on the graphene project. It is assumed that Tunghsu will provide needed financial and strategic support, while Cheltenham-based&nbs The MoU emphasizes that technical cooperation between the two parties will focus on sectors related to their main businesses, such as high-quality graphene material preparation, photoelectric display materials, new energy vehicles, light-emitting diode lighting systems, graphene thermal management materials and flexible batteries, the statement said." | ![]() ellissj
