Productivity uplifts. It was 49 times more effective to pull coal by horse on the Bridgwater canal than by horse and carton the roads used for the same journey into Manchester.I trust we can help big multiples lead acid (milk floats) to vehicles with our materials for the likes of Zap n Go and our Spanish associates.

I see spreadsheet phil mentions graphene from a speech over 2 years ago...wonder with geic up and running, any cash will be announced to help support it further in his spring statement this week ?

"...Part of Britain’s productivity transformation will come, of course, from innovation. But the new, disruptive, technologies which are right now making their way from university labs and company R&D facilities into early stage production……offer Britain a much bigger prize than incremental productivity improvements.

Because at the cutting edge of many of these new technologies, the UK is becoming a world leader once again. Not just in the science. But in the application of it.

And in the innovation that follows. Over the last few years, unnoticed by most of us, entrepreneurs and scientists from home and abroad have been turning Britain into a hub of tech innovation. And global businesses have followed, hungry for the inventions and innovations they are generating……developing technologies that will change fundamentally the way we work and the way we live.

Driverless cars, Graphene, the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, 3D printing, virtual reality, advanced robotics. I’ll be honest with you: I had no idea until a few weeks ago just how much I don’t know! And even less idea how much I wouldn’t be able to understand even once it had been explained to me!

But this is the future! A whole new world that would have sounded like science fiction just a few years ago – but is now a reality taking shape in laboratories, incubators and factories across Britain. There is a once-in-a-generation opportunity for Britain……to cement its role as a leader in tech innovation. And my ambition is clear: I want to see what is invented here, developed here. I want to see what is developed here, produced here. I want to see jobs, profits and tax receipts here in Britain. The fruit of British genius being harvested here in Britain as we move into a fourth industrial revolution……creating jobs, wealth and success…"

RTJ - I’ve long thought a take private may be on VRS board’s mind but that would exclude many PIs who hold within investment platform tax wrappers.

Craigy,

For some of us older, larger holders Aim is better than the main market due to inheritance tax relief. I wouldn't be surprised if a certain poster here is taking steps to make the AIM police itself better. Also remember that Neill had lunch with the head of the LSE a few months ago. Some things just take time.

We all moan about AIMLook at DRV. dropped 10% on Friday for no apparent reason. Then dropped 30% today when the reason became apparent.Smells.Aim is full of manipulation. Look forward to VRS graduating to the main marketCraigy

Thanks Melf, fingers crossed we get a launch in Q1. Just conscious this is very much out of VRS control now, so if it is delayed, the description of the reason(s) why needs to be concise.

Hi superg. Is it worth asking about an update on the equipment supplier. I believe Neill said last month he had some people of vrs out there. I appreciate any new equipment being bought would of been in an RNS by now, but I would be interested in knowing if they have discussed details if say 100T / yr capacity machine and if so what timescale to get machine ordered and comissioned.

It not just the money invested, some folks spend most of their time on here.

Agreed it's all about the money. If the company went bust and everyone lost, would you say , well we were supporting a great British company so it everything we hoped for?

The hyper loop is just hype. It's not economically viable. The have trains going 420kph and faster, carrying so many more than the hyperloop can

It looks like the lunch didn't result in the "potnential investor" wanting to rush into becoming an actual investor.

I did like the bit in the lunch report that said:-

"Yesterday: Chris asked us all what our expectations were, and what we hoped to get out of Versarien.

As I recall, making money came quite a distance behind supporting a 'new' British Company in a new and exciting technological revolution."

I assume the reason most here are holding VRS is to, you know, make money.

If it went up x5 next week, I'd be more than happy to cash out regardless if they never sold a carbon atom.

SG - it will be worth asking about the distribution of any Canaccord research on VRS under the MIFID II rules. About as exciting as IFRS accounting I know but there is no value to VRS in the Canaccord note if it isn’t widely available. Some companies have had analyst estimates and broker research available to download on their corporate websites.
