Interesting article from 1st Jan 2015, worth a read imo. Below caught my eye ! Best ellis.

How graphene, a nearly magic material, could revolutionize automobiles By Andrew Hard — Posted on January 1, 2015 - 1:00PM

"...Tesla is reportedly developing technology that will boost the range of its vehicles from around 300 miles to nearly 500 miles by using graphene-based battery electrodes. Remember, the medium conducts electricity like few substances can, which means higher capacity and faster charging altogether...."

Morning all. Great news this week's and thanks for the feedback from those that met NR on Thursday.
Was it ascertained where Neill visited on his recent trips to Northant's and the US? Also, is it possible they were related?
Cheers, cj.

Cash in the wings until after the Brexit vote.

Personally don’t understand it as Brexit will not have a material difference on the operation of VRS graphene business imo.

More risk of missing out to the upside than downside imo.

Time will tell.

Actually no country seem to take it seriously. They just have wine and dine conferences. What action is happening?

Maybe but energy consumption is going up worldwide. USA doesn't take it seriously. The sea levels will rise as the ice shelf's are melting causing mass migration. Also crop failure and even more 100 year events

OT/ Fascinating short Bloomberg article on the actual voting process (as it will be used in Parliament on Tuesday evening - Brexit vote):

“The ayes to the right...” That’s how Speaker of the House of Commons John Bercow will begin announcing the result of the vote that could determine Britain’s future, and could very well seal Theresa May’s fate.

But amid the flummery of the British Parliament, where members cannot address each other by name, and the security is provided by men in tights, how can you tell who’s actually won and lost? Even veterans of the system can be caught out by procedure, and lately they’ve been disagreeing about whether May can pull the vote at the last minute. Assuming she doesn’t, here’s our minute-by-minute guide to Tuesday’s vote.

Have a good week-end - Mike

OT / Teepee: you are wrong on population growth, there are 30 countries where populations are decreasing, and that will increase to 35 by 2020.

'Europe: Homeland of Demographic Decline

Heading up our list of slowly dissipating large countries is the Ukraine, a country chewed at its edges by its aggressive Russian neighbor. According to U.N. projections, Ukraine’s population will fall 22% by 2050. Eastern and Southern Europe are home to several important downsizing countries including Poland (off 14% by 2050), the Russian Federation (-10.4%), Italy (-5.5%) and Spain (-2.8%). The population of the EU is expected to peak by 2050 and then gradually decline, suggesting a dim future for that body even if it holds together'.

First and foremost is a big big thank you to the 'collective' VRS team for getting us to this position. VRS is simmering so so nicely. The lucid interims lay bare to what a latent global giant in waiting VRS is. Just a few more important boxes to tick and then.....:)

The planet is doomed! Doesn't matter what tech comes out, people just can't seem to stop breeding. Imagine a test tube of bacteria that doubles in population every 5 mins. Every generation will think it has enough space to breed. Then when the tube is 50% full the last generation will think there is loads of space until it doubles and 100% of the space is taken

20pc - but to finish, I think where AAC will score short'ish term, is their vehicle parts, like what we called 'bumpers'. They could be significantly stronger and lighter, and that hopefully will lead to other graphene plastic parts if they can show an advantage to overcome their additional cost..

We shall see ;0)

er ... supermarket crates. With the greatest respect - I think we need to think just a LITTLE bit bigger than that.

For a start, I don't imagine the withdrawal of a whole fleet of serviceable crates just 'cus there is a stronger one is going to happen, - not forgetting they will have been designed to do the job in the first place.

Yes they will be lighter and stronger - no question, but I imagine it will be on a gradual replacement basis.

In short - not game changing.

Aecom is game changing!

I would have thought that AAC would be able expand rapidly over the coming months/years just knocking out almost indestructible super market crates (or any crates) while helping to save the planet. Would be interesting to know how much longer a graphene crate would last compared to current offerings.

Yes spike_1 the aviation side will be huge. It gets more exciting with every acorn sown. Tipping point comes to mind. Before we know it we could be wandering in a mighty forest, perhaps Neill should introduce a shareholder benefit of Nanene hearing aids so we can enjoy the birdsong.

20pc - talking time scales: At the pub Neill said (if I've got it right) it took just 10 weeks from submitting the chair back (shoe sole scale model) to completing Aviation standards clearance, which is utterly astonishing.

What it suggests to me - and I am no expert - is that there is a very significant amount of high quality data out there that can be relied upon by end users and flight safety authorities.

Suffice to say, if one airline can decide to do an unscheduled upgrade to take advantage of what must be a significant weight saving, I see no reason why others won't follow.

Sleep well VRS'ers ;0)

squire, I'm 70% in your camp, but ony bought 7.5k this morning 'cus I want to get through Tuesday's Brexit vote.

One thing I'm also 70% sure of, is that we're not going to end up with a no deal Brexit.
