Thks Owenga. And excellent point redstone. Standard baggage allowance is 15Kg last time I flew. Suitcase already weighs 3-4Kg, and the extra baggage allowance is always a rip-off.

Acoustic insulation accounts for up to 400kg of weight in a plane. I seem to remember one of our competitors adding small amounts of acoustic insulation to a Ford car, I wonder if we can trump that on a huge scale?

Thanks to all those posting about last night's meet up with Neill - very interesting to get a bit more insight into the detail around what has been announced. The subject of airline interiors is quite intriguing given the savings made in reducing weight. I'm sure as Neill mentioned in the Podcast at the time that with FAA approval and the process gone through they'll be getting a good hearing and traction from other carriers soon. One other spin off on airline interiors may be baggage so perhaps something for the likes of Samsonite to offer a range or ultra-light yet durable Nanene enhanced cases and carry-ons. Ones that can withstand all the mal-treatment by baggage handlers would be most welcome!

Squeezed in two buys so small (56, and 36 shares) that dealing costs and spread are a bigger part of them than I would normally tolerate! But that's how keen I am to be onboard with every available penny ahead of what feels like an imminent surge.

Owenga,I thought I heard differently. My take was that it had taken 4 or 5 days to make the 50kg master batch to their spec.Neill said that the speed of production would increase significantly in future.Happy to be corrected though as it was rather noisy.Baz

With the talk about the airlines resurfacing, just wanted to revisit one of my earlier posts. According to the FAA, Aircraft operators estimate that each pound of weight on a commercial aircraft costs between $100 to $300 in operating expenses over the service life of the aircraft.
Total weight of internal combustible material is somewhere between 3,300kg (7,275 lb) and 8,400 kg (18,518 lb) of which seat cushions, upholstery and trims account for between 300kg (661 lb) and 1500kg (3,306 lb). The cost saving for seats alone could be staggering across a fleet, so it is inevitable that every other component will be considered for similar processes if at all possible (both internal and external). The potential for aviation is mind-blowing, and the airline companies desperately need it.

I know its Russian but that doesn't make it any worse than those sneeky Yanks who own Google.....It doesn't make it any better either. If you want a secure search try StartPage. Same search engine as Google but no tracking, ads etc.

The 4 or 5 days was to make the amount of nanene required for the 50kg mixture.

Thks dynam1te. Was the 4 days time to make 50Kg or the 200kg order. I was anticipating the new machine capacity to be approx 12Kg/ day of nanene. So would have thought a higher capacity for the polygrene.

I want to add my thanks to everyone on this board who posted about the meet-up last night, and to those who carry out excellent research and take the time to share it, and to those who contribute meaningfully to the conversations and the good-natured banter on here, and to the good people I have met in person.

Despite the trolls (they are only a minority), this board is an excellent resource and we have a great community. Proud and positive lth here.

Lucky - I wasn't sure if I should be reporting this but as Neill has tweeted smth along the same lines... I was there last night at Windsor Castle and the last sentence he muttered under his breath while leaving the venue, almost out the door, was 'Let's see what happens between now and Xmas, shall we' with a half cheeky grin on his face. I don't want to raise expectations and all and this was after a few pints but this was pretty much what he said.

Grabster snd Festario ... I too have poor hearing (lost in crowd conversation and

Me tooooo, its no fun in a crowded room, pub etc, even with the aid, its the direction of travel that confuses me, sometimes I answer a question put to someone yards away, get some laughable responses, luckily most know of my impairment lol.
