Why is UKRRIN needed?

The UK Rail Research and Innovation Network (UKRRIN) is designed to create powerful collaboration between academia and industry, aiming to provide a step-change in innovation in the sector and accelerate new technologies and products from research into market applications globally.

What is UKRRIN?

The initiative is being built on the development of three new Centres of Excellence formed by a consortium of universities, in collaboration with existing industry testing and trialling facilities such as Network Rail’s Rail Innovation and Development Centres.

The new centres will be created in Digital Systems (led by University of Birmingham), Rolling Stock (led by University of Huddersfield, in partnership with Newcastle University and Loughborough University) and Infrastructure (led by University of Southampton, in partnership with the University of Nottingham, the University of Sheffield, Loughborough University and Heriot-Watt University). Some £92m of total funding has been committed to the centres by the UK Government and leading industrial partners."

I can’t name who but some of those that have engaged VRS have been there done that. They found some ‘popular’; other producer names here had junk graphene that doesn’t work.

To think Nano did a deal re Qdots in TVs with one and the MC went to over £400 mill.

Folk then calling it cheap and undervalued.

Graphene goes intobjust about everything and some huge names have signed up with VRS.

Even Scrutable now here and welcome thought graphene was only in lubricants. That btw was graphite in graphene clothing.

Woody - I won't be surprised to see NR/VRS proposing a strong "business case" to all those giants involved in various materials for semis (Apple, Samsung, Intel ..)and Electric Vehicles for weight reasons (trucks, buses, cars.
VRS would never wait for proposals coming to them - They must chase them and have to convince the customers to accept and integrate a revolutionary material, nanene into various applications. This is what NR is doing, thus why he is traveling all the time.
In the near future, once he becomes another UK Dyson or Branson, and VRS another big UK material giant such as Tetrapack, those doubters and skeptics will understand all about the story - Probably too late for them.

I agree, wording is critical for the statements that accompany the results. I hope Neill completed his statement before he flew to the USA and back. Positivity is the key.

Is there no end to this cornucopia of good news? Hopefully not. Perhaps the investing world will at last start to sit up and take notice.

I assume NR is coming in on the red-eye from Cupertino etc as we speak, to prepare us a cracking statement to accompany the results tomorrow. Let’s hope he’s better than I am at kipping on a jet, we need him to stay at the top of his game. Lord knows where he gets the stamina from.
