02/12/2018 21:23 | I don't disagree with your comment, just thought the wording in the 5/11/18 RNS was making some kind of point. Just to add a bit re my last post. I hope that the negotiations if possible will include clauses to stop Chinese partners from attempting a takeover of VRS for a period of time. As it currently stands the market cap of VRS is far to CHEAP to beat off a takeover attempt from one of the monsters we are currently dealing with. Although looking like that could be about to change shortly. | 20pc

02/12/2018 21:08 | It could be that their is more than one holding company maybe but I am happy to be wrong on this. It’s just when reading through the policies of invesment and to enable Versarien to take money out of China (its not easy), a Hong Kong Subsidary maybe the easiest way of doing this. An interesting developement over the weekend was that Trump is trying to get China to open up its market to foreign invesment, this can only be a good thing. One of the policies that caught my eye was the subsidies from China for an increase in Import/export of goods in USD. ‘(1) For enterprises, whose yearly export volume is more than 5 Million USD, for each rise of export volume of 1 Million USD in the same year, 10.000 RMB will be subsidized, the maximum subsidy amount for one company is 1 Million RMB; for enterprises, whose yearly import volume is more than 10 Million USD, for each rise of import volume of 1 Million USD in the same year, 10.000 RMB will be subsidized, the maximum subsidy amount for one company is 1 Million RMB.’ The rewards, subsidies etc make this development especially exciting for frontier industries like ours. | diversification
02/12/2018 20:58 | Hi diversification, probably wrong but in my view I don't expect the “innovation zone” to take a stake in VRS unless it is by buying a stake in the market. That would generate a nice share price rise though. A percentage stake in VRS would give interest/stake in VRS s worldwide potential. I think it will be kept at country or regional level so creating 1 or some Chinese joint ventures. The following sentence in the RNS 5/11/18 China Update implies that VRS will use the Hong Kong set up for deals outside of China “As previously reported, the Company has also established a wholly owned Hong Kong company which will be used as the platform for joint ventures in other Asian countries.”, All just guessing but the future looks bright. | 20pc

02/12/2018 19:24 | After reading ‘20 policies of Jinan Innovation Zone for investment promotion‘. I find it highly probable that the innovation zone will be buying a percentage stake in VRS. Or could it be that it owns a proportion of its new holding company in Hong Kong? The most encouraging part is that they have a policy which means this JV will be further down the line than most realise imo. | diversification

(See bottom line of page 5). All in my laymans opnion. Best ellis Edit - correct link now ! Edit: better explanation of method in this paper. From 2010. Looks like they have improved it for use in research. Aimo. Best ellis. | ellissj
02/12/2018 18:36 | I previously posted comments linking the impact sustained short-selling of IQE stock had on its share price to the potential risk facing newbie investors in VRS at the time its own share price appeared to be getting ahead of itself. As a holder of both IQE and (again recently) VRS stock, I am pleased to highlight what I hope is a more positive link between these two exciting UK tech companies. Not only are both global leaders in their respective fields but possibly partners in developing graphene-channel field effect transistors (FETs) on 200mm wafers. Can anyone here confirm? This item appears on the Innovations page of IQE's website:Graphene exhibits ultra high p-type and n-type, room temperature electron mobility and minimal conductivity which makes the material a potential candidate for ultra-high frequency applications beyond that of conventional semiconducting materials in the form of Field Effect Transistors (FETs).IQE is a participant in Phase I of the Carbon Electronics for RF Applications Program (CERA).Program Goal: To develop graphene synthesis process on Si-based substrates using MBE and fabricate graphene-channel field effect transistors on 200mm wafersSponsor: DARPA-MTOKey Accomplishments:HRL team demonstrated 1st RF graphene FETs using epitaxial film from NRLFabricated epitaxial graphene FETs on a 2" wafer scale with world-record field effect mobility of ~6000 cm2/VsDemonstrated device-viable epitaxial graphene on 3" Si-face 6H-SiC substrateMobility measurements of epitaxial graphene on small area C-face samples extrapolate to 150,000+ cm2V-1s-1 for sheet charge density of about 1x1011 cm-2Uniformity on Si-face wafers were found by Raman mapping to be primarily one layer; demonstrated resistivity uniformity < 3% | diplomat65

02/12/2018 18:21 | @MikeBrenner have to say it was hilarious when The Graphene Council corrected you on Twitter when you were trying to say FGR's 2T order was not valid. For those who missed it here is the link | loglorry1
02/12/2018 18:17 | No pressure my end for the team to deliver, it will happen when it happens, I am positive the guys are working hard to deliver not just another aim success story but indeed a global company, it’s plain to see, unfortunately some ppl on this board need to visit spec savers :) | haz101
02/12/2018 18:16 | "You don't know what I do..." Surely you don't fall for this sort of guff anymore? This from NR who thought 1T of Graphene needed tens of thousands of oil barrels for transportation which is why he needed a production site in China. The real figure more like 36 barrels based on the density figures given on the Nanene tech sheet (and I don't mean 36,000 I do mean 36). Didn't he also say production was expected to start mid 2018 in Jinan? Wasn't ISO mean to be "immanent" months ago? | loglorry1
02/12/2018 18:15 | I have a little inkling that this week might be one of the biggest in VRS' history. Hope to see as many of you as possible to (hopefully) celebrate on Thursday evening in London! | a_game
02/12/2018 18:09 | Harrysol - do us all a favour and filter club sandwich like the rest of us as it's painful to have to read your replies to his idiocy - he is too one eyed to listen to common sense and it clogs up the board with dross. Whilst you are at it do loglorry too if not already! Best Mike | mikebrenner
02/12/2018 18:01 | Just can't believe that these conversations are taking place... For me, the writing is on the wall. The 3T machine has been approved by our 'tightfisted' (! :-)) accountant, delivered and will soon be operational... "You don't know what I do..." Need I really say more? | woodpeckers
02/12/2018 17:58 | @Harrysol how do you explain that FGR took their PureGRAPH Graphene from test to a 2T order in 5 months when VRS collaborations stretch back 3 years and no material orders? Why were there no follow up orders after the 1KG order sold 2 years ago? They said in the RNS at the time that they expected repeat orders? Were there problems? Did the customer find a cheaper or better source? I think when 2-DTech results are finally released they'll show little or no sales of Graphene. | loglorry1
