27/11/2018 20:29 | Bigger market picture - geopolitical issues per this article. Best ellis "Stocks rose on Tuesday in choppy trading as investors hoped the U.S. and China will strike a deal on trade, while shares of Amazon gained on strong Cyber Monday sales." 27/11/2018 19:54 | Agreed, and pleased to see those shares in safe hands. Best ellis. | ellissj
27/11/2018 19:30 | Well I've been picking up quite a few shares over the last two days and I'm roughly 5% down on them already but I'm not at all concerned. Whatsmore, they could fall further, no-one knows. If they do, I will obviously wish I had waited, but I couldn't have known that and as far as I'm concerned the price I have paid is more than attractive bearing in mind the prospects of the company. This is what we are buying right now. I'm not expecting 'good' interims in the 'superficial' sense. Expenses will have rocketed! Wages, travel expenses etc are bound to be through the roof! But so they should be in a fast expanding, global company in the making. We're all thrilled when we hear that they are jetting off all over the world working on deals, so we have to accept/expect the bills that go with it. A company producing revenue and not knowing what to do with it would worry me. Hence Neill's comment that he is not in a hurry to reach the stage where the company is profitable. When I heard that comment I translated it to mean that he had so many opportunities to grow the company that he knew big profits will follow on from sensible investment at this stage. The reason the share price is where it is is imo, down to market unease. We are still 'risky' in the traditional sense and so will inevitably suffer in times like these. But that won't last. Those who are risk averse really should wait a while until we reach a stage where the company can be valued using traditional metrics. Others will see beyond that and having done their research will find a once in a lifetime opportunity. To get in on the ground floor of a company that is not only at the beginning of the next industrial revolution but 'amazingly' has a management that has the common sense to realise that despite the rush to get to market, good foundations need to be put in in order to give it the basis it really needs is a rarity. | woodpeckers

27/11/2018 19:12 | This was the event; best ellis "AUTOMOTIVE ADVANCED MATERIALS: 2D OR NOT 2D" Tuesday, January 30, 2018 (All day) Manchester "Join the Advanced Propulsion Centre, the University of Manchester and Innovate UK as we debate the reality behind advanced materials and whether they can be a real game-changer in the automotive industry. Held in the Whitworth Hall at the University of Manchester, 2D or not 2D? will bring together key industry figures from the major OEMs in automotive, automotive supply chain and world leading academics to enable discussions on the use of innovative materials in the manufacture of vehicles. This event will feature a panel of experts including Professor Sir Kostya Novoselov, the Nobel Prize winning scientist who first isolated graphene and discovered its properties. We will also be joined by senior industry and academic representatives including; the Henry Royce Institute, Graphene manufacturer Versarien, Additive Manufacturing experts HiETA and Zap&Go – producer of the first graphene supercapacitor. Have your say on whether it’s time to say goodbye to traditional materials, or whether their qualities are currently unbeatable." | ellissj
27/11/2018 19:07 | This discussion event held 30th jan 18, and attended by VRS - dr andrew deakin, gives a good perspective upon 2D materials and their promise imo. Best ellis. "‘2D or Not 2D’ seminar reveals graphene promise is ready to be delivered, transforming many areas of technology as engineers learn how to design with the new material..." ..."Versarien’ ..."Concluding, Ian Constance reflected that unlike traditional technology evolution, the move to graphene is a complex process that is about far more than materials development. “It’s similar to other areas of innovation that we support, helping to move great ideas from the laboratory to the vehicles we all drive. We need to continue to increase our understanding of the big picture, we need design and manufacturing engineers to take time to learn how the new approaches it enables could contribute to their objectives, and we need great innovators like those speaking today to continue to drive our understanding of this remarkable new material. I entered today’s seminar with big questions. I am leaving convinced we are at the beginning of the most exciting materials revolution for generations.” “2D or Not 2D? Definitely 2D. The promise is already becoming a reality.” | ellissj

27/11/2018 18:00 | Waffling on. The Iqe market has been around for a long time. The graphene market will open up uses and products that werenot an option and didn’t exist before. As China said, internally they expect a market for graphene of over $200 billion | superg1

27/11/2018 17:58 | That brings me back to nanoco. Some time back there was huge excitement over their Qdots for TVs. Such tech can quickly be overtaken. Oleds seemed to be the first likely candidate. While standing in a store recently looking at the qdot TVs the sales guys were saying ignore them, oled is the king. So before they get to mass market others have appeared. | superg1
27/11/2018 17:53 | Binary to some extent to, whereas graphene can go into just about everything worldwide. On that point re medicine not big money. One scientist at Cambridge explained how carbon fibres doped with graphene were being looked at to repair spinal chods. Tiny strands implanted and the body using graphene as a carbon to regrow on. Some good results suggested in animals. 1000’s of uses in 1000’s of products. It will be an industrial revolution I have no doubt there. | superg1 |
