Doing a bit of googling. Andreas and Adrian Keller who have bought into the swiss bank Berenberg are also on the board of directors of DKSH holdings ltd who seem to specialise in Asian expansions for all sorts of business including applications such as ours. It certainly wouldn't be impossible for them to be aware of us and decide to accumulate a few shares. No idea if this is the case, as always DYOR.

Neill has stated that there are just 11 people working on the Graphene side of the business.

The Graphene IP was primarily acquired via 2-DTech for £440k. R&D at the group level has been very low and hardly any R&D has been capitalised on the balance sheet since VRS focussed on Graphene.

It's obviously highly unusual for a company to create and protect valuable IP without spending lots of cash but it's not impossible.

This is in stark contrast to some other companies out there who produce Graphene who have invested heavily in their IP and scale up to industrial scale production.

I think some don't appreciate the number of people involved or the effort they have put in. I imagine all of them would wish we were nearer the goal of world domination but I'm sure it's not due to lack of effort and I'm as certain as I can be that that time will come. They appear to be doing everything right so I can't imagine it not happening.

Hello Ax. A resolution to us/china trade issues would no doubt help firms with like vrs with intl expansion plans. If successful, would hope for further deals to unfold in both countries. With numbers attached ? As matt said, we are dealing with superpowers. Thus i imagine, we work on a fine line, doing the most we can. Fwiw, my gut says high fives ! We shall see. Aimo. Best ellis

Richardc77 bang on, I have been buying loads of IQE in the 60s to add to prior load at 20p and am very excited about what that will be worth come 20/21 😋

VRS may well be better but happy to be in both too 👍

Jointer, re your point...

"the amount of time and effort to get this company to where it is now is phenomenal."

...I was thinking exactly that last night. The number of man hours, if they could be calculated, would be phenomenal!

The scientists who initially put the hours in to discovering the 2d materials that we own the patents to...

The hours put in by government officials to promote graphene globally and more specifically by our own DIT secondees to promote VRS...

The hours put in by all the members of the BOD over the last few years (way more than most of us would suspect I imagine)...

The hours put in by employees of the company working in the backbone of the company which has enabled Neill to fund the progress of the 2d arm...

I'm sure the list goes on...

I think some don't appreciate the number of people involved or the effort they have put in. I imagine all of them would wish we were nearer the goal of world domination but I'm sure it's not due to lack of effort and I'm as certain as I can be that that time will come. GLA, nice to see a blue finish today.

Super, not questioning your VRS research which is why I remain long 6 figures, just your simplistic IQE look. Either way I’m excited to be long both. 😉

Given no one knows what the VRS price for their 2D products and application knowledge is(correctly), I find it quite tedious that the detractors keep bandying theoretical prices per kg. VRS is not a supermarket where you buy their products off the shelf - there is value added knowledge too. The all in price will and never should be disclosed.

O/T I am not averse to FGR becoming a major success, in fact I would welcome it from a sector perspective, but I find the FGR fan club appearance on this thread over the last few weeks and the contingent purchase order ahead of an AIM fund raising and listing worthy of PI DD investigation to say the least. Caveat emptor......

AIMHO etc

Richard

If you had found what I have found then you’d be highly excited here. Hence I can just chill and crack on with the DIY.

I keep saying it’s all on the web.

A market comment about graphene and timelines made me chuckle. They charge £1000’s for those reports.

serratia - well this is a listed company. The government would find it hard to justify blocking the sale of a company that didn't have significant sales (and £10m isn't significant, it's only 10x what I've earned over the past decade, and I'm a one-man band) if s'holders were in favour of it.

and I understand that law doesn't apply if the bidder is a UK company? Plenty of companies domiciled in the UK big enough to snap up VRS - assuming of course they don't all leave after Brexit.

It all comes down to one thing: delivery, orders, revenues, profits. So far there has been next to none.

The chances of a hostile takeover are slim. Sometime back the law said the government could block a hostile bid for a UK company with sales of over £70m if the company had military or strategic benefits for the UK or words to that effect.
You might have thought dropping it to a round figure of £10m would be a figure of choice. VRS had sales of just under £10m and the new law came out using £1m as the cut off.
Coincidence ?

mike - "There are enough of us with patience who want to see the real long term value delivered and are happy to wait for many years"

well more fool you. next time you drive past a cemetery, reflect again on the value of patience.

and I'm going nowhere.

[edit] and everyone has their price. bet those LTHs you speak of would jump at £10 or £20 a share right now rather than some indeterminate amount 10 years in the future. I know I would.

@Club NR also said in Jan podcast that he expected to have production up and running in Jinan mid 2018.

You get the feeling he's making it up as he goes along.

In the same interview he said 1T of Graphene has a volume of 38,000 oil drums. That means 1Kg would be 38 oil drums. In reality it's 5 liters.

He'd obviously never even seen 1 Kg of Graphene in January either that or he's just making stuff up.

He also said he'd been told the market for Graphene in China was $200 billion. This is such a far fetched number he shouldn't have used it.

However let's not be too hard on Neill. He's good at promotion. Delivering not so much so far.

Club you are blocked so i can't see your posts and the drivel you write. Assuming that Neill and Chris agree it would take less than 20 PI's with substantial LONG TERM holdings i know to block any takeover. There are enough of us with patience who want to see the real long term value delivered and are happy to wait for many years for this to come to fruition as we believe in the management, the plan they have and their ability to deliver! Sorry you are not aligned - maybe time to leave ... or at least shut up?
