Pshelvin100% agreePreservation of capital is key.VRS is difficult to call. The apparent potential in more than one area is hugely appealing which makes it difficult to have a binary decision on a single event. Because of the rise it has now reached a key percentage of my overall portfolio. I could do with some hard numbers to support my belief and trust in VRS. Not sold anything yet - hard to judge does that make me smart or foolish? Never had a share as confusing as VRSCraigy

Remember those institutional investors sell when there are redemptions, so they are not that welcome. Price will sort itself out after next news. Not talking about interims but orders from AECOM or elsewhere. We could still be loss making, but that would be no surprise. The future is more important

pshevlin,

Neill said he recognised that one day he would not be the person to lead the business as CEO and would bring in a new CEO to take VRS to the next level. I'm assuming at that point he would settle solely in the role of chairman.

I wish people would stop talking about THE seller. It is pretty obvious there have been multiple sellers over the last few weeks.
I would also bet some are amongst those that said they were not interested in day to day fluctuations and would not look at under a tenner

I don't know the answer to this question, but what was the institutional interest in Croda, Renishaw, Apple, Fevertree, Google, Unilever, etc in their very early days??
Versarien is still a micro-cap stock.

pshevlin,

What are your investment rules? Does it include presence of II before you buy? If not, then the question doesn't make sense.

Now e.g. you say when you invested in VRS in 2017 or before, there were IIs and then they slowly locked in their profits. Was it not a sign for you to sell as you believe in the presence of IIs.

Yes, PIs bring volatility to the share but when IIs dump, that is painful too. Just have cascaded limit orders (north/south) for your holding (nobody needs to know) if you think that way.

Can sell 50,000 at 114p now so we are due a bounce. Anyway, off to find a job to see me through to when this gets bought out by HAYD ;-) x

About time that was rectified then tini5. That situation can't carry on for ever. The last person who was filling both roles in a stock I held was bloody Rob Terry and that didn't end well!

I think we will see some sales annouced at some point. The key thing to look for is the $ amount. If they say they have sold 10kg and given no sales price then you can bet that it aint at anything like $100,000/kg.

I'm expecting sales prices of around $100-200/kg. that's what other firms sell equivalent graphene at.

Sales, sales, sales! The rest is just froth and hot air. Time to see real activity. Btw sales should be in quantities that I cannot lift! I sense significant widening of losses coming in results

pshevlin - Apparently II's don't like the chairman and CEO role to be fulfilled by the same person.

This was discussed at the AGM and Neill's answer was perfectly reasonable.

I don't want an entry as I'm full invested. I REALLY do not want to sell any here but preservation of capital IS important. One of the first rules of investing actually.I have set a bottom limit but no I won't tell you what that is. I've lost far too much money in the past waiting for shares to come good.It does concern me that there is someone out there with a pile of stock who thinks it is a good idea to get rid of it at present prices.
An answer to the last question would be interesting though. WHY is there no (obvious) institutional interest?

pshevln,

You either think the company has great potential , or you don`t.Institutions will show an interest if and when there is more visibility (predictability of future earnings ).

False market, all large sells easily absorbed.Very low volume, and and semblance of buying would spike it back up.

You mentioned in the past about trading it or standing on the sidelines (fully/partially I don't know). Now, how low entry do you want?

If we advise CS to get out selling it, I guess it applies to all.

My worst performing share. If it's so good why no institutional interest?

@luminoso as you have probably worked out VRS is a story stock like EVRH. If the story can't be turned into actual sales then folk get bored and move on. So far the VRS CEO Neill Ricketts has done a fantastic job in keeping folk interested here.

The problem is he has set huge expectations and needs to deliver more than just waffle and hot air.

Hmmm 23% rise with words like "collaboration ", " developing an innovative product " and "pathway to commercialisation "
Seems like VRS's own meteoric rise on the back of many more, bigger collaborations, many developments of innovative products, and all treading the path to commercialisation, ..... was not all froth after all !

I don't know about short term, but medium and long term I personally have literally 0 concern, the share price will be significantly higher. Current m/c is < £180m, NR has expressed time and time again his intention of building a "sizable" "big" company. Graphene market will be huge, in the not-so-long-future imo. Nobody knows how big the future 2D materials market will be. VRS is up there in the sector and it's getting better and better. Patience will be rewarded.
