So, we get a couple of pieces of brilliant news and we quibble about the punctuation. Sorry Neill, you may be breaking into the largest market globally but this simply isn't good enough - you have a misplaced apostrophe. 7 out of 10, must try harder. Priceless :-)

The first deal in China hasn't exactly set the share price alight, has it?

Looks like a good deal - but again, no actual money attached. *That* is what everyone's waiting for.

In the video, Tunghsu seems to use lots of graphene for many high tech applications.
Thus why it needs the purest: Nanene, which gives the natural connection with VRS which has the edge in this area.
Tungshu could be one of VRS biggest sources of income in the future when one looks at its smart cities plans and numerous high tech applications. The China factory, well positioned, will play the major role.

Re: I've raised a lot of questions over the supposed advantage that Nanene has over competitor graphene from companies which are actually selling large quantities to large companies. Despite that, their market caps are a fraction of VRS

These are good questions: why have the competitor companies that are actually selling large quantities on such appallingly low market caps, when they obviously should be much higher?

Answer: probably because their graphene / graphite isn't as valuable as clearly VRS's is seen to be. If their graphene / graphite was good, they would have been successfully courted by the Chinese.

Certainly VRS's many collaborations world-wide with internationally recognised companies (which obviously these other companies haven't got or are of little value, otherwise we would know about them) would go part of the way to explain VRS's current market cap. If the other companies did have them their market cap would be higher too.

As for the future, well who knows?

Certainly the Chinese seem to think VRS are the real deal and are desperate to get VRS on board, hence the very real interest from over thirty cities / entities. Once these other companies are seen in the same light by the Chinese as VRS, their market caps will rise accordingly.

By then of course, VRS will have turned China into a VRS production base, and its market cap will - even before then - begin to reflect the ever increasing value compared to what we see today.

What's not to like ;0)

Best wishes - Spike

I imagine UoC future cities and transport strategy chimes with Tungshu, and hopefully offers 2D solutions here ! Aimo. Best ellis

"Ambition

Engineering is leading the University’s flagship on green transport and it aims is to maximise its contribution by drawing the existing and emerging research threads together from across the Department.

The ambition is to gain an international reputation for being able to grab hold of transport dilemma at the systems level, develop new insights and carry them through with industrial and government partners to create radical performance improvements.

Activities

The Department in initiatives and projects spanning all modes of transport, which include the following examples:

Centre For Sustainable Road Freight - multi-disciplinary collaboration across universities and with industry to improve road freight efficiency and reduce its environmental impactCambridge Vehicle Dynamics Consortium - collaboration between a group of companies from the heavy truck industry and engineers from Cambridge to develop better heavy goods vehiclesDriver-vehicle Dynamics group – research to understand the driver-vehicle dynamic interactionEnergy Efficient Cities initiative - cross-disciplinary research project addressing energy demand reduction and environmental impact in cities, by research in building and transport technologies, district power systems, and urban planningHybrid aircraft – collaboration with Boeing resulting in the first aircraft to be powered by a parallel hybrid-electric propulsion system, where an electric motor and petrol engine work together to drive the propellerSilent Aircraft Initiative – a landmark collaboration with MIT, Boeing and Rolls-Royce to develop a conceptual design for an aircraft whose noise would be almost imperceptible outside the perimeter of a daytime urban airportUltra-low emission buses - designing a modular, common platform for ultra-low-emission electric buses and producing a system able to power a fleet of vehiclesWhittle Laboratory  - specialising in research into the fluid dynamics and thermodynamics of all types of turbomachinery

Future Cities

Developing the best engineering solutions for green, safe, efficient and vibrant places to live and work.

Challenge

The world’s urban population as a percentage of the total passed 50% in 2007, reached 53% in 2014 (hxxp://data.worldbank.org) and continues to rise. Continued rapid growth means expense, disruption and sprawl, as the infrastructure at the core of most cities is outdated and decaying. The stress on city systems is heightened by climate change, security and social issues. How can cities avoid falling into inefficiency, pollution and potential disaster? How can they become the greenest, safest, most efficient and vibrant places to live and work?

Ambition

The Future Cities flagship engages a full spectrum of engineering and social science disciplines across the University with the aim of openly giving technical professionals, investors, politicians, civil servants, and citizens the ability to understand their cities, so that they can make informed decisions about how to employ new technology, policy and governance. Within this flagship agenda, Engineering aims to become the world-leading institution for modelling and monitoring infrastructure and resources, identifying opportunities for dramatic improvements in efficiency, and creating the engineered solutions to meet those opportunities.

Activities

The activities under this mission include:

Cambridge Centre for Smart Infrastructure – research, development, demonstration and dissemination to transform the infrastructure and construction industries through smarter informationEnergy Efficient Cities initiative - cross-disciplinary research project addressing energy demand reduction and environmental impact in cities, by research in building and transport technologies, district power systems, and urban planningLaing O'Rourke Centre for Construction Engineering and Technology – driving innovation and creating a new vision for the construction industryManaging Air for Green Inner Cities (MAGIC) – cross-discipline collaboration led by the Department of Mathematics to investigate how to eradicate air pollution and heat island effects in cities by 2050.

For newcomers to this thread/bulletin board, it's worth repeating this 30th October 2018 post by Spike: Fact Between noon today (30th October) and noon a week ago (23rd October), there have been 1,706 posts on this thread. Between them Spid81 and loglorry accounted for 161 (nearly 10%), 23 per day on average. HOWEVER neither of them are invested in VRS, and neither of them believe that VRS is a good investment, indeed they spend a considerable part of their waking hours rubbishing VRS using lies, half truths and twisted and incomplete data to make VRS as unattractive an investment as they possibly can. WHY would the want to do that. The answer is very simple - they are shorting VRS and are desperate to try to get the price down before news such as China catapults the price up over £2, and quite possibly bankrupts them. Reading their posts can damage your wealth. - it is really that simple

Just to add.

Many don’t post but plenty read.

There are probably 20 plus that know me very well and some of those for many years pre any investing I do.

So the point is to let them know as they know I don’t do BS.

As I have stated many times if I’m guessing or speculating I will add that.

Others can treat it as BS, up to them they are not my target re the info.

So in 2017 Tungshu sign cooperation agreements with 2 municipal governments

Then build a large scale production base of electric buses with ANNUAL manufacturing capability of 10,000 new buses and 30,000 new energy logistics vehicles in each city

They certainly mean business!
