26/10/2018 08:52 | Very telling at cranfield graphene conference in sept, we had two Dr's presenting on behalf of vrs. Dr stephen Hodge. Dr. Martin kemp ! Aimo. Best ellis. "Morning session, part 2: Stephen Hodge, Cambridge Graphene Centre Katerina Busuttil, BSI Keith Paton, NPL Nick Cliffe, UKRI InnovateUK 12:30-13:30Lunch and visits to graphene exhibits and posters13:30-15:40Af Ray Gibbs, Haydale Martin Kemp, Versarien PLC" | ellissj
26/10/2018 08:45 | Aha I understand they are working with Gnanomat as do many others on here. I specifically raised a point re that at the AGM and was careful not to name a very big other that may be lurking. | ![]() superg1
26/10/2018 08:43 | My take on Gnanomat is that they work as a middle man. VRS produce the graphene but the graphene then needs to be incorporated into the materials needed to create the batteries. This is where Gnanomat comes in. Effectively zap and go will be a customer of Gnanomat | chimpandy1
26/10/2018 08:43 | Very happy with the top 2D materials experts associated with VRS. Confident in the company's products here. Bring on the NPL graphene testing service asap ! Aimo. Best ellis "RNS Number : 2306V Versarien PLC 20 July 2018 Versarien plc ("Versarien" or the "Company") Graphene Quality Assurance Versarien plc (AIM: VRS), the advanced materials engineering group, is pleased to provide an update on recent senior appointments to strengthen the Company's graphene technology team, with a particular focus on quality assurance, and the selection of the Company to be the launch client of The Graphene Council's 'Verified Graphene Producer' programme in the USA. Strengthening of Graphene Technology Team The Company is pleased to announce the appointments of Dr Denis Koltsov and Dr Martin Kemp to strengthen its graphene technology team, with a particular focus on quality assurance. Both Dr Kemp and Dr Kolsov are at the forefront of developing the international standards that will define graphene and other nanomaterials. Dr Denis Koltsov is Chair of ISO TC 229 Nanotechnology Standards Group at ISO (International Organization for Standardization).&nb Dr Martin Kemp is Chairman of the Nanomaterials Committee of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IOM3). Of particular note, Dr Kemp has written the new standard for graphene flakes (British Standard Institution BSI PAS 1201:2018 'Properties of Graphene Flakes - Guide') which was sponsored by InnovateUK and will be published in August 2018. (Actually sept and welcomed by neill per tweet). | ellissj
26/10/2018 08:42 | axotyl, "He's hardly likely to admit he's worried (not that I think he is)?" But if he were even slightly worried he wouldn't come out so openly and state that he isn't at all worried would he? Nor would Matt or David and they have all been very clear that the business is very much on track. | ![]() woodpeckers
26/10/2018 08:40 | The WMG part of that news Versarien has been working with WMG (Warwick Manufacturing Group) and their partner companies and scientists at the universities of Warwick and Cambridge to collaborate on the production of power storage devices such as batteries and supercapacitors using Versarien's proprietary Nanene graphene nano platelets. Significant advances have been made through incorporating the Company's high quality graphene into these devices and the Company looks forward to commercial products becoming available in due course. | ![]() superg1
26/10/2018 08:40 | No I meant I thought Zap n Go and Gnanomat were rivals. | ![]() zagrosfold
26/10/2018 08:39 | And at the AGM Peter said The Chinese had tried Nanene and liked it. He said the Chinese mentioned the graphene in their country is poor. Enough were there to hear that. In the same news as Zap and go. Chinese Graphene Order In addition to these relationships, the Company is pleased to report that it has received its first small initial order for Nanene graphene nano platelets from a Chinese automotive battery manufacturer for their technical evaluation. Zap and go have been on the case for years and wanted in with VRS, clearly Nanene is a key. WMG report few layer solves and issue, Gnano wanted in with VRS again for the wilily few layer graphene. Gnano have the metal oxide technology. | ![]() superg1
26/10/2018 08:35 | Zagros It was announced Zap&Go Versarien is pleased to announce that it has entered into a collaboration agreement with ZapGo Ltd ("Zap&Go"), a high technology business focussed on developing a new class of energy storage device with considerable functional improvements over current commercially available supercapacitors. Zap&Go's technology and growing patent portfolio is in part derived from Oxford University research, and in part developed independently by Zap&Go's own scientists. Zap&Go work with a number of Chinese partners to manufacture their technology. | ![]() superg1
26/10/2018 08:35 | "..but I am satisfied that if the largest shareholder is not worried, then neither am I" - vrs1 He's hardly likely to admit he's worried (not that I think he is)? | ![]() axotyl
26/10/2018 08:33 | If multiple companies have the same product that's within n% of being more or less the same quality, but one company has spent an enormous amount of effort building supply chains, relevant academic and industry contacts/collaborati Whilst the science of graphene production is no doubt important, I suspect the proclivity of certain individuals to assert quality issues, is blinding them to the more practical business matters. Seems a pretty obvious outcome to me: VRS #1 | ![]() tini5

26/10/2018 08:32 | OK thanks super. I knew vrs was working with both but thought they were entirely separate, rivals if you like. | ![]() zagrosfold

26/10/2018 08:25 | Zafros And Zap and Go are with Gnaomat, VRS completes the triangle. I think you will find Zap and VRS have known each other for years and get on well. | ![]() superg1
26/10/2018 08:23 | Begs the question , do Gnano work closely with VW? There were a lot of companies on that list but if Gnano have potentially 'cracked the code' then that is what everyone wants isn't it? | ![]() luckyorange
26/10/2018 08:21 | CS .... It is coming,that I can assure you ......... | ![]() squire007
26/10/2018 08:21 | I thought Zap n Go had solved the battery conundrum aswell? | ![]() zagrosfold
26/10/2018 08:21 | Nothing really happened to push the VRS share price down apart from the delay in news/RNS. I too am disappointed with the delays, but I am satisfied that if the largest shareholder is not worried, then neither am I. Neill has always been upfront and honest. We have recruited several people recently. It must be because as Neill puts it, a lot is going on behind the scenes and he is 6 months ahead of the market. The share price will recover and surpass £2 very soon. | vrs1
26/10/2018 08:20 | BTW I find some behaviour by you know who as extremely odd aka ridiculously complacent. I've never been in circs before where the drug dealing gang that has evaded capture for years has some standing on top of the production facilities waving the drugs and cash at the authorities. I imagine the bosses behind it won't be too pleased (understatement) when the wheel turns in full. | ![]() superg1
26/10/2018 08:17 | Chimp Asia still jittery re the China trade situation with the US. At the end of the day it damages the US too as it evolves so it's imo a bit of a false Mexican stand off. It's the Trump works, make hugely unrealistic threats to get the wheels turning in the right direction. EG Threatening to wipe a country off the face of the earth should never imo involve getting the Nobel prize for peace. | ![]() superg1
26/10/2018 08:15 | If Gnano have done that superg then it is really big stuff, gigantic step forward in fact, only a small amount of Nanene required in each one but vertical integration at its best. | ![]() luckyorange
26/10/2018 08:14 | Good morning Ellissj So VRS are allowed to have a typo in their product information sheet, But Flinders University and VFD are not ? Pot calling Kettle. From the same link your provided it has the following statement "The new company will commercialise the VFD to produce a range of materials such as graphene and sliced carbon nanotubes, with the bonus of not needing to use harsh or toxic chemicals in the manufacturing process (which is currently a requirement for conventional graphene and shortened carbon nanotube production" Would you like me to add links to Professor Rastons research papers that clearly state the different range of graphene / 2d materials VFD produces. Or do you prefer to use only one reference to base your research on. BTW this is FGR's second method of making graphene, this hasn't been commercialised as yet, they are currently in the process of upscaling | ![]() spid81
26/10/2018 08:12 | The DOW closed over 400 points up so it could be a good sign for the market in general | chimpandy1 |
