OT I'm very glad I didn't enter into the tipping of other shares over the weekend. I would have extolled the virtues of SEE, my only other substantial holding. Unfortunately a stinker of an RNS (not the end of the world but not good) has trashed the share price today. Market overreacting , as usual but I would not have been a popular bunny on the BB had I encouraged anyone to invest yesterday.

rainbow - Which bubble ? This is nothing when compared to the likes of PRSM now valued at over £1.6 billion and still making losses ! People are paying and betting on potential and prospects which are real.

I'm not fussed about getting announcements this week or next - though I'd love it if we did as they all seem to be good ones!

If there IS an announcement tomorrow morning, either planned or unplanned, and it's one that justifies another podcast, I presume NR will be able to find 10 minutes to record it by phone from wherever. But they don't normally get broadcast till lunchtime - in which case tomorrow's guests will presumably be clustered around whoever can play it. (Obviously it could be listened to later - but who is going to wait??).

Low volume today followed by a healthy soft retracement to help the share price continue its progress.
I would be worried if no retracement happened since reaching new highs.
Obviously VRS share price is and will be news dependent either way until the flow of numbers start doing the talking.

I noted the other day when some said a supply was there that the MM Shoc dominated.

They were the ones stuck on 153 today, they have moved to 155.

Cantor are now trying to flip some at 152 having been on the bid at 150p, I assume the 152 is the PI sells they picked up.

calm before the storm. the next three weeks could be very interesting. agree that if China isn't delivered by the AGM they're going to have to answer an awful lot of 'where is it?' questions...

Compound - the problem with those wishing to short the US housing market, was that they had no mechanism to do it either - In the film, the biggest short player went to the banks to help create the "swap" security that would ultimately help bring same banks down - Greed & stupidity - but at the end of the day business as usual with bonus`s on top & all paid for by the tax payer - Some of my buddies still driving taxis on the back of it

Oh & as you ( & many others) say, bonds the next bubble - & they`re bundling them up into triple A tranches now? - & then what happens? - if the film replays these will get magnified via "synthetic" bundles - magnifying the potential losses umpteen times? - Great fun! - Gonna stock up on baked beans & get myself a shotgun license...

Yes, I suspect they'd like to have something nailed before the AGM as I guess they're probably getting fed up with the "when" question.

pcjoe - re 31020. The financial derivatives traders are at it again with Collateralised Loan Obligations (CLO) on corporate debt - packaging them up and passing them off as good security. There was an article about them in last Sunday's Telegraph (sorry I don't have a link). It didn't say how to play the downside though :-)

If I had a seller for August due to precious indicators it would be Herald. If not was them in August and the same level as prior then as I say they would have less than you going into September.

Miton may hang onto what they have left I suspect.

Whatever happens the big name sellers will stop at some point. If were were to hit big China news, or other big news, the more they get rid of (if not all of them) prior to that, the better imo.

If plastic polymers (graphene reinforced hopefully) are going to replace squillions of T of steel (Planes, trains, ships(?), construction & autos) - Does that help keep the Oil industry afloat after the combustion engine dies? - The stats & rough forecasts are out there but the sun is shining now & better things to do...…


On SGs say so I rented out "The Big Short" last night - excellent film & good explanation of the last big crash that put 30 - 40% of self employed UK construction workers out of business & into driving taxis - A deep delve into the stats & thinking behind all these triple A (LOL) mortgage tranche securities, made a few people very rich as the world economy crashed - Nothing like a bit of research..
