laginaneil - good question, can't remember. she's going back to visit the family she stayed with last year when she volunteered for a month in a school over there. She's flying into Kiev, think it's a town not too far from there.

cloudy - oh no, *we* (wife and I) couldn't afford to go to Salamanca, just the Cost Centre... But FWIW she enjoyed it very much, though she's only 17 so legally too young to drink and doesn't like the taste of alcohol anyway ... ;-)

the trade war has strengthened the dollar dropping the price of gold as this gave china a opportunity to stengthen their gold reserves as this year china added 200 tons of gold.


now china has halted trade talks with the usa pending the usa november intrims may weaken the dollar pushing the price of gold to a record highs !

china will also be holding back from signing trade deals with the uk, until the outcome of the brexit exit if a bad deal then a weaker Gdp will give china a stronger hand,

chinese checkers, Donald will give the uk a deal or no deal if the uk trade with china.loads one silver bullet in to the chamber !

will Donald be impeached ?

In other news: the inaugural Versarien Golf Day in just over a week, has 35 attenders (I don't think that includes VRS), of whom 24 will be ball bashing. The rest of us will be trooping around dutifully tut-tutting and or politely clapping, possibly with the occasional cheer. Or if raining possibly draining the bar.

All the while, we will of course be pumping for as much info' as we can prize out of the VRS'ers as we can. There is a very casual dinner in the early evening (jackets apparently frowned upon) with lots of raffle prizes etc. So more chance there too to gain some intelligence.

Doubtless, those of us with a sharp mind and short term memory recall will enlighten this BB with their new found knowledge, hopefully in the process giving rainbow yet another bad day. We shall see ;0)

It's not a case of upset or can't handle the chat.

There have been over 60,000 posts on the 2 threads and a large part of those have been about explaining what it is and what isn't graphene and what does and doesn't work for the full range of graphene claims.

EG Multi and many layer will be fine for electrical and thermal gains for composites that have low conductivity, simply because it adds a conductive material to the mix.

Depending on the strength of the composite many layer could cause it to be weaker.

Quite simply down to the point of the bonds between the many layer being weaker than the composite which creates billions of weak points.

However if you have process the graphite down to high numbers of single a few layer you have also have potentially exhausted the weak bonds of the graphite/graphene layers left.

Hence with graphene being stronger than the composite it now works in the enhancement of strength.

BUT if the laterals are too small they won't bond property to the composite as they don't have the desired surface area to do that. Too big and they will crumple and fold in the process. Too harsh in producing them and the platelets will have holes and tears reducing the strength gain potential.

Teepee, it's basic because it goes without saying ie you referred to nanene spec sheet and drew a laymans conclusion. Neill is no differemt, and so would have relied upon expert analysis before making the iso statement. Big globals have obviously done DD and signed collabs. Therefore, if you are not satisfied, get it from the horses mouth ie neill. No one else here can answer for you, because we are all 'laymen' in this regard. Hope this helps. Best ellis

Does anybody know if Dr Hodge, Dr Kolstov and Dr Kemp have been offered share options as part of their package? It's not that I would begrudge them if they have, quite the opposite. My thinking is that I doubt they have been given exuberant salaries and so if share options we're sufficiently enticing for them to all join Versarien, it's a clear indicator to me that they must all think the prospects of the firm are exceptionally good. If three of the leading Graphene experts in the world are confident in the firm that is a pretty strong indicator of where we are heading, don't you think?

Sorry grandpa grabby who lost all his money apart from his Vrs holding. I think I will stop posting now, as many regular worshippers can not handle debate or understand it. Ps we never stop being school boys and girls as life is a school. Something poor grandpa grabby has forgotten. That's when your old, when you can no longer see another side and question your gods. If only I had any spare cash - but Cost Centre #2 was in Salamanca for a few weeks recently practising her Spanish, and CC#1 is off to Ukraine on Thursday for 2 weeks. That combined with my own Croatia holiday means I'm stony...

teepee, don't forget that two of the guys heavily involved in writing the standard have subsequently joined VRS. Unlikely they would do if VRS didn't meet the standard.
