22/8/2018 20:12 | The truth is in life the best experiences aren't the expensive yacht purchases or the other fleeting dopamine hits received from buying shiny trappings but rather having fun and laughing with loved ones and friends. If a material item can aid that (say buying a classic motorbike then joining a motorbike club and having new experiences with new people) then go for it. But many shiny things will seem enticing but will bring little net gain to your life, they may actually become emotional and financial liabilities. It is up to us all to evaluate this and act accordingly. Being a hoarding prude with £millions and not spending or giving is probably the worst way to live life, perhaps even worse than being a prolific spender. The key is to have a certain amount of money that buys a certain amount of time if all other income streams dry up, maybe for a year or two. Then spend the remaining money wisely MAKING SURE YOU GIVE ALONG THE WAY. And always remember that nothing is certain in this world and neither is Versarien's success. We evaluate the situation and with the facts we are given we make sensible, rational, non-emotion-based decisions. Good luck everyone with their hopes and dreams :) | cdub1
22/8/2018 20:11 | Zag, been on a few of those. This was the most impressive, spent several days on it when it was racing in the med. I'm sure you could get used to it ;0) | spike_1
22/8/2018 20:08 | Spike I take it you didn't mean triumph spitfire,I had one of those once | mj10
22/8/2018 20:06 | john: thousand bag? - well its done it once already ;0) but I ain't holding my breath. | spike_1
22/8/2018 20:03 | Spike, speed frightens me. I meant powerboat as in floating gin-palace lol | zagrosfold
22/8/2018 20:03 | ZAG - I'm VERY impressed ;0) good on ya! | spike_1
22/8/2018 20:01 | Could VRS 1000bag to a MC of £200billion ? I think even CS might think twice on that one ;-) | johnveals
22/8/2018 20:01 | Having survived the big 'C' a few years ago my ambition (apart from the powerboat) is to give a big chunk of money to the NHS hospital that cured me, preferably in the form of some new machines for the local hospital rather than being swallowed up in admin costs. After all I wouldn't be investing in VRS without them. | zagrosfold
22/8/2018 19:52 | 💰😉 | diversification
22/8/2018 19:50 | divers - I completely get your point. I wasn't suggesting selling tomorrow - jeez, I just bought some this afternoon and don't want you all selling on me quite so soon, just suggesting a little perspective. Keep smiling - Spike | spike_1
22/8/2018 19:47 | Spike, absolutely great post, and one which I'll have trouble heeding, but I really must.Zagro, yours was great too.... made me laugh out loud. | festario
22/8/2018 19:46 | Zag that really was very funny. I guess 'new money' values different things. Thinking about it - what would I want (done tea/ritz), I once gave a friend a ride in a Spit' for his 21st, perhaps I should / could do that? Can't think of anything else right now, and can't afford a space ride. Best wishes - Spike | spike_1
22/8/2018 19:46 | Or if vrs multibags year on year on year, the same result ! ;) best ellis | ellissj
22/8/2018 19:46 | I think a better valuation will exist when the model they have now is completed , regarding world expansion is repeated with a 2nd 2d material and a pipeline of promising others is ready to go | 1teepee
22/8/2018 19:39 | Well said spike and I am sure that will apply to many ? | bootie64
22/8/2018 19:37 | To be fair spike, I think that in the future it will be easier to put some sort of valuation on the company once we know the terms of its international expansion. There will be a significant number of factors to take into consideration with this valuation. At the point of international expansion I would expect significant broker coverage. When we start to receive the results from the collaborations we will also get to understand the pace at which nanene is likely to be adopted into the broader market. The bigger picture is definitely coming together and based on what I know so far, I would continue to hold VRS with a £1billion valuation. It’s the potential, it’s unparalleled. I can’t say I’m not desperate to see a bit more meat on the bone, these secret meetings in London and not knowing what is happening in China and the terms of the proposed deals has me chomping at the bit. At the same time, conversely I am happy to wait and see this out for as long as it takes. | diversification
22/8/2018 19:32 | Couldnt agree more Spike nursed too many patients who were never to reach retirement and others who having just retired were given bad news...enjoy at least some of your good fortune here and as you say make memories.. | hattie1
22/8/2018 19:29 | Dare I say it, has anyone sold a few at the ATH to buy back in a bit lower down ? Very brave if you have ! | johnveals
22/8/2018 19:26 | Spike - Exactly ! But leave a little for the next generation, or even better help them with the occasional top slice. | johnveals
22/8/2018 19:24 | It's easy sonnyjim £5000, 10 bag reinvest, 10 bag reinvest, 10 bag = £5million Piece of cake. | johnveals
22/8/2018 19:23 | My penny's worth: what's all this talk of selling out and when to do it? (not talking about Ade), but those of us who are hoping this will build into a bigger and bigger pile. A thought: surely it's not a case of selling out - but top slicing from time to time till it's all gone. Unless - for instance your are building to pay of a mortgage yours or a rellie's, or similar life changing event. What astonishes me, is that if you ask people what the highlights of their lives are (so far), turns out there are very often very few landmark occasions - why - because they are always saving for something, putting money by, a bigger house etc. etc. You know what - 'they' can reach retirement and not have actually lived. The parachute jump that didn't happen because there were higher priorities, a Rolex (second hand), even little things like a trip to a West-end theatre with a really nice dinner and hotel, no it really doesn't have to be your honeymoon to do these things! Even really little things like Tea at the Ritz - just do it!! OK if you're on limited means it may put something else back a bit BUT you will have lived, you will have memories! Obviously - you get were this is going - I'm simply saying, a big pile of money when you are dead .... is exactly that. That holiday, that car, do it! Yes you will have less at the end ... there is a clue here: 'at the end' - what if it was tomorrow? Sleep well - Spike | spike_1
22/8/2018 19:22 | 1teepee, for Christ sake, id just started to settle down with all the excitement 😂😉 | diversification
22/8/2018 19:21 | if you think this is a painful ride you should have been in itm the last ten years.VRS is a doddle after that | mj10 |
