superg1,

Similar experiences. Very early 1990s I was unemployed for a year so spent it as a volunteer ambulance car driver. One patient I used to regularly convey was a student at Lancaster Uni. Took him to Preston a couple of times a week for dialysis. He, like your geek, was highly excited about the new upcoming thing called the world wide web and how he was buying up domain names to sell them to major international companies. Like you I yawned. Wonder which Caribbean Island he now owns.

Secondly I was in a pub when a mate walked in with his son. Told me the son was going to attend Fleetwood Nautical College to train as a radio engineer. "What a waste of time" I told him. We don't have a Merchant Navy anymore. Next time I saw them the son had completed his training and done a couple of Australia runs. "What are you doing now?" I asked. "Have you heard of a company called Nokia?" he asked. "No" I replied. "Well, they're into mobile phones and I'm going to America to help set up a factory for them" Apparently he retired a multi millionaire in his early forties.

Moral of the story: If I ever give you any advice do the opposite.

I hope you are not ramping Superg, welcome back from a refreshing break. I have also come back from a week off and can't wait for what I expect to be an incredible 18 months in the life of VRS. I can take from my SIPP this time next year although it might not be quite long enough, but form where VRS were when I first invested over 2 years ago I wouldn't bet against it.

Oh yeah....so when this guy from VRS fell for the graphene hype I was critical of that calling it a waste of time and money.

Strange thing was he said he agreed with me and had to be persuaded to look deeper.
So I decided to look deeper too.

Now I see various others where I was calling it hype. They need to look deeper, very much deeper or just sit back and watch the party unfold for those that did.

I recall a nerdy type behind the counter at Watford electronics, he was highly exited trying to tell me I should get into the web and websites, yawn. It was going to be big apparently silly sod, I ignored him.

Then MS trying to excite me with fraud related to things called mobile phones. I had a very good pager thank you very much. Yawn again. He became head of security for a service provider, muppet eh with his stupid ideas and enthusiasm, after all mobile phones were never going to become big.

It was very painful re web access, 10 mins plus for each ADVFN page to load times if at all.

Great things to come short term for VRS I suspect.

Haz / lucky

I agree about could be a good time.
I can only invest small and only occasionally but like I have said in a prevoius post I see this being a great opportunity in more ways than one. To be on the edge of something life-changing to society is a great feeling.
I imagine it being like somebody telling you that you can buy shares in a small company who have this crazy idea, they are developing a system where we can all communicate and have access to worldwide knowledge all at our fingertips. However a a number of people don't have Faith in this company or the men behind it.
This company call this thing The World Wide Web
All you shortersout there either wave the white flag or the union Jack

This could be a crucial exhibition for VRS to get involved in. Especially as by then VRS may well be the first and maybe the only company to have certification for graphene. The Graphene Council will be presenting there on “Graphene Enhanced Composites And Plastics”. If VRS have received certification by then I would expect some sort presence at the show for maximum bang for their achievements. Also good to see ZapGo presenting “Extreme Fast Charging Of Battery Electric Vehicles At 1,000kW, With The Goal Of A 300+ Mile Range In 5 Minutes.

haz101 - I know your excited but you turning into a raving ramper, topping up every other day.
Quotes like RNS imminent IMO. Anyone can make a guess; it's starting to sound a bit stupid.
NB: I'm quite bullish too and await the next RNS, but there is a limit....

Teasing, I am excited too and looking forward to next few weeks as a LTH. I am expecting something out of US soon and seeing Matt mention..Coming to America, it comforted me somewhat even though it's s play of words taken out of context for a bit fun.No delusions of grandeur on this board just solid future thinking investors in for the long run.

Paranoid fhasson?

No paranoia from my perspective, getting excited again which usually coincides with the musketeers going quiet and supply being very depleted.

When I say quiet they don't say too much because of legal implications and price sensitive material so focus on other things.

I notice these things and feel sure others do too?

"Huawei is currently the world's third-largest smartphone maker behind Apple and Samsung. For several months in 2017, Huawei's smartphone sales even surpassed Apple, positioning it temporarily only behind Samsung. The Chinese tech giant has also become the largest telecommunications equipment maker in the world."
