My largest holding HCM, one of the stalwarts, looks OK when the future potential is taken into account. Looking forward to being able to listen to the analyst meeting and webcast at 9.00 am.

G4M 7am: "I am pleased to report that revenue growth continues to be strong into what is a highly competitive market, and the projects to relocate our Swedish distribution centre and upgrade our UK distribution facilities are on-track to be delivered ahead of our peak trading period. The Board remains confident in meeting their expectations for the financial year."

The Group will announce a trading update in relation to the six months ending 31 August 2018 in early September 2018, followed by the full half year results in October.

No mention of US yet. Not expecting much share movement today.

I own AMZN and it's a low multibagger for me but in many ways I failed. Been using them since circa 2000 thinking how great they were and therefore it should be a 100 bagger for me.Therefore totally get the sentiment! Hopefully learn from the error.

but sometimes things are just staring us in the face and we dont act. netflix as a big example. we signed up probably 5 years ago and I never looked at it for an investment.

Was trying to think earlier for something similar, without waiting 5 years......

AMZN revenue up 39% with profits up hugely. Not bad for a $900bn behemoth.

Thanks. I think that it is a good business that found itself in the wrong place at the wrong time. Slowly coming round.

I occasionally have good ideas, but my timing is usually awful.
Worked hard to get the average down with a few trades.

For what it is worth - my take on when to book partial profits...

1. Portfolio rebalance - victim of its own success !
2. Some other excellent investment opportunity, but no extra funds available
3. Fundamental change in the business/environment of the company or growth trajectory
4. share price spike not fundamentally supported by figures - over exuberant market sentiment
5. To reduce overall average costs
6. To maximise use of capital gains allowance for the year
7. Only when I have to - to pay capital gains to HMRC, unforeseen large expenses

Hi cbootle,

Good to see that you have done well from G4M, that you kindly flagged up on the ARC board, but unfortunately I didn't buy.

Not being particularly musically gifted, I don't know if musicians keep buying and upgrading their gear all the time -as I imagine instruments can be expensive?

So in my naive view, the G4M customer base would need to keep growing pretty spectacularly to keep growing revenues/profits, if there aren't frequent re-purchases ? I gather this is a similar issue facing the likes of Fishing Republic etc.

Happy to learn about their USP.

Thanks Hydrus - general question, when do you know it's time to take profits? Looks like you timed it very well!

Suspect I'm the only fan of G4M here, but expecting AGM/trading-update tomorrow, so will be up early, cash ready in case good news...

Got in early at 140p two years ago, so overall have done well (now 658p, peaked at 886p Oct 17). CAPEX has been high due to expansion. Seems well run (was a private co for decades before IPO). Illiquid stock, so could change dramatically either way.

The Siemens press release suggests news is even better because it says the tests are now "available" which suggests they've managed to launch the test on two platforms in a matter of days following approval.

I expect RSW to rise over the next few days.
However, I might be over reacting to the throwaway comment on AM.
I did like their range of products.
Great divi rise.
The finance man was tedious.

It was my one of 5 stockpicks last year big; seemed to spend most of its time at a lower price than I thought justified. And its back there again now.

Red - thought my gdwn buy was mistimed; glad someone got it worse that me!! I have deliberated on topping up but have resisted so far.

SPE janeann. The more I research it the more I like it and appears to be cheap so could re-rate on results.
