02/3/2018 20:31 | How Ad industry change in last 17 years... | attrader
02/3/2018 20:13 | Red. Is the IMI webcast recommendation to me. Cheers | thelongandtheshortandthetall
02/3/2018 20:12 | Hydrus, the only possible issue for KEYS on the horizon may be the impact of possible changes to IR35. If the government makes similar changes to contractors working for private sector like they did for the public sector, will the staff be better off to become KEYS employees, and will the court decide they should be KEYS employee based on the new regulations. Just a thought, IR35 will be modified at some point to remove the existing loophole, but what will be the details, that's a million dollar question. | modform
02/3/2018 19:53 | I know taht it isn't your sphere of interest, but it was well worth listening to the webcast of the IMI results. 1 hour 23 mins, of which 40 mins was presentation and the rest Q&A. Selway is a typical brusque to the point Aussie. He has tried to bring the company into the 21st Century on a 5 year plan. Somewhere around year 4 now. You can see the progress. They are far more tech savvy and all areas of the business have improved. Unfortunately they have ongoing issues in a number of areas. Restructuring has certainly been beneficial. I can see where the tintins are coming from in marking down the share price. Selway and his team are brutally honest in their comments. Although not your area of interest, the webcast is a masterclass in strategic management of a business. red | redartbmud
02/3/2018 19:44 | Thats the question there red. Perhaps too much of a risk. Even a small mistake with the food could lead to an outsized reaction. Esp with the way news spreads online. Think I'll avoid it for that reseaon. Attarader. Disapointed that krispy kremes have been taken over. The mrs mentioned them earlier. Be greatful to here an thoughts on pbpb. | thelongandtheshortandthetall
02/3/2018 19:35 | Chipotle had a series of unfortunate incidents a few months ago, with numerous outlets experiencing problems with multiple customers succumbing to sickness bugs. Hope it is sorted now. red | redartbmud
02/3/2018 18:29 | No problem interested in any views you develop on it. It's not one of my top holdings as I want to see how they progress first. However it's not a tiddler holding either. | hydrus
02/3/2018 18:25 | Thanks for heads up on KEYS Hydrus.. Reading their IPO document now .. | attrader
02/3/2018 18:12 | 'About time there is a decent market decline'Tend to agree attrader. I'm positioned for it after exiting a few positions recently. Having said that still heavily in a number of conviction stocks. I can't find a lot of new opportunities so have added a bit to my favourite holdings when there has been a dip. My main new one this year is KEYS. There are certainly risks relating to its model longer term but I think they can make a bit of a killing over the next 2/3 years. | hydrus
02/3/2018 18:08 | Interesting after-hours BOO trade 16:47:33 171.2653 1,000,000 O 171.1500 171.2000 apad😎 | apad
02/3/2018 17:48 | No, attrader, AGK don't have a moat and they are capital intensive with plant they need to keep occupied. They also have a long-running problem in Argentina. Results on the 6th inst. IMI not showing signs of recovery, red. The market is unforgiving. apad😎 | apad
02/3/2018 17:37 | It will be nice to get on in a long term compounder! Donuts is a good business. I keep seeing Krispy Kreme in the office almost every day. Unfortunately, it was bought by German based JAB holdings after their growth stalled. Chipotle only uses fresh meat. They don't have fridges so there is a risk with undercooked meat. I like it after a good gym session. Will read about Potbelly ... I have sold my Shack holding after recent results at 15% loss. I can't project where they will end up in 5-10 years. It is a competitive sector and valuation per store looks excessive. It seemed like a punt than an investment. An expensive lesson to learn. Integrafin has jumped up 30% on first day of trading.. Another one to keep an eye on. | attrader
02/3/2018 15:18 | The ZOO board on ADVFN is really very good. I keep quiet these days as not much to add due to a few excellent contributors. I recall the days when it was very quiet and not many interesting posts at all. | hydrus
02/3/2018 15:15 | Got some more income in April. Tempted to buy some IGG just to remind myself that I shouldn't have sold them. With any luck the market will be depressed until then :-) Also will be looking at BTFD opportunities, but I have a lot of news coming in March. Maybe another puppy, or feed the existing ones? Problems, problems..... apad😎 | apad
02/3/2018 15:14 | Couple of thoughys apad. 1. Fresh large scale war - military bases 2. Natural disaster - power outages 3. Shale oil kicks off properly - localised power needed to heat the cold pipes to aid oil flow. Things afe the sort of things I think it needs to get going again. Thats just from memory. Was once a big fan of aggrekko. Now theyve lost exclusivity to the olympics and football world cup may also dent ther reputation. Cheers | thelongandtheshortandthetall
02/3/2018 14:19 | Anybody have a view on AGK? I'm looking at it for a pal. So far I reckon he ought to dump it. apad | apad
02/3/2018 13:17 | I do have a holding in IMI. I saw Selway's (CEO) 5 year plan and, so far, it has been working. Trying to be clever hasn't worked on this occasion. At least they go Xd for c28p at the beginning of April. The purchase may stay in my portfolio for a period longer than intended. The tintins must have expected something significantly better than what has been delivered. Selway was upbeat on current year to boot! Overdone IMHO, but there you go. red | redartbmud
02/3/2018 09:16 | Understood Mod - I assumed Red was a LTH. My mistake should have read the posts more carefully. | hydrus
02/3/2018 09:13 | Yes Hydrus and red was trading, not investing, and hence my comments.I agree on some small caps when the share price falls due to selling pressure you can make a judgement that based on previous results, the next set of results will be good, and there is a good chance you will get it right. It's all about risk and reward I guess... | modform
02/3/2018 09:09 | BTW Mark M results are very impressive but I couldn't match his style as my nature is different. I guess if you are naturally more of a trader then selling ahead of results might make perfect sense. | hydrus
02/3/2018 09:01 | Mod but he is a trader. Others have different investing styles of course. If you want to be invested medium term in a company then not sure there is huge point in gambling that results will cause share price to fall. Sometimes they shoot up due to beating expectations or comments about outlook. Personally I'd be very annoyed with myself in that situation if I'd tried to be clever by selling ahead of results in acompany I really believed in. | hydrus |
