V. good BREE and good HILS, red.

On Goodwin, I wasn't really commenting on your post, merely musing on my change in a long held opinion on the company. They should have done a Hunting rather than looking for other areas. Clogs to Clogs?

Stunning results from MCGN with eps up by 39% and ahead of forecasts.

The company identified the growth drivers in the Strategic Review in 2013

The US Department of Justice has issued an indictment alleging Beaufort Securities and a host of offshore companies conspired to commit securities fraud, as the small cap broker collapsed into insolvency.

Beaufort Securities, which acted as a broker to to more than 60 companies and managed investments for clients through its discretionary fund management arm, collapsed into insolvency last week.

Going from bad to worse.

I was merely pointing out the occasional stupidity of bureaucracy.

I think Goodwin is yesterday's news for me, red.

I wasn't keen on the areas that they were 'diversifying' into, or their LTIP packages.

Seems to me that if a company gets its timing wrong it battens down the hatches, like HTG.

Maybe the family aren't up to inheriting the mantle — "clogs to clogs"?

Price Monitoring Extension
The auction call period has been extended in this security by 5 minutes.
Auction call extensions give London Stock Exchange electronic order book users a further opportunity to review the prices and sizes of orders entered in an individual security's auction call before the execution occurs. A price monitoring extension is activated when the matching process would have otherwise resulted in an execution price that is a pre-determined percentage above or below the price of the most recent automated execution today.
The applicable percentage is set by reference to a security's Millennium Exchange sector. This is set out in the Sector Breakdown tab of the Parameters document at www.londonstockexchange.com/tradingservices

idea; technically it all seems ok. Just for me it is lacking something - cant really put a finger on it but that extra thing that makes it stand out from the crowd. Novelty, nicheness, sole player/leader in the field? In part may be because I have had a small holding for a very long time and never quite got there until recently (and yes has done very well recently). Cant get excited about arc either as that's a plodder but for me it does have some specific attributes that make it worth having a decent stake.

somewhat pleased with daughters LISA with her 920 ZTF; up 20% in 2 weeks; pure luck with timing!

I understand the danger of software company accounts.
The opposite argument is that successful growth produces an amazing company because software is weightless and costs nothing to reproduce. Software programmers are ten a penny.
IDEA operates in fertile areas where there are a lot of fragmented small companies. This is the sort of acquisition model I like (just like PTSG).

The thick plottens.

Well, well, well.
Spirax-Sarco Engineering plc, the world leader in the control and efficient use of steam, electrical thermal energy solutions, and peristaltic pumping and associated fluid path technologies, announces the following Board appointment in accordance with its ongoing succession planning and further to its 14th February 2018 news release on Board Succession Changes.

Peter France will join the Board as an Independent Non-Executive Director with immediate effect. Peter will be a member of the Audit, Remuneration and Nomination Committees.

Peter has had a highly successful career spanning 28 years with Rotork plc. From 2008 to August 2017, he was Chief Executive at Rotork plc and led the business through a period of significant transformation and growth.

Incest abounds in the East.

Hmm.. France was a shadow of his former self at his last Rotork AGM. He knew that his time was up.
I like Peter a lot and he did many good things at Rotork, but maybe his shortcomings have come back to bite them in the bum in that last couple of years.

Looks like Mr. M agrees with us on ROR, despite the divi increase, red.

Funny how one reads an rns in the first instance. I look at what isn't said in the headlines and then go to the numbers relevant to the missing boasts.

Hedging irritates me to death. Companies are happy to work in different sectors and live with sector variations. Why not countries and their currencies? As you say, it's just a balance sheet issue that makes the banks rich.
Add that to paying insurance companies for pension deficits! What's wrong with an escrow account?

Hydrus, thanks for the tip about the ZOO board. There are two, very thorough, posters who seem like they are not just confirmation biasists.

I rarely look at specialist boards, but that one is an asset for holders.

I came late to ZOO and it dropped after my first tranche, so I bought a second on the dip.

ROR looks as if it is still in the first phase of the cycle, at first glance, red. Surprised at the divi increase.
However, they have paid down a significant amount of debt. So are doing the right thing.

AGK. Market might be relieved that there is no new bad news and the divi is maintained.

Agreed.

Finally back in profit on Htg.
When the share price collapsed I decided to hold on.
The timing of the major expansion was very unfortunate, but they have redeemed themselves with remadial actions.
