:-)

BQE (used to own) back on growth track after a flat period.

Joules (strange shop) doing very well indeed.

QTX increased interim supporting promised increases for second half. Expected decline in low margin insurance. US good growth. Don't think the market will like results. Hold. Could become a BTFD opportunity.

Whaddya think of VANL, red?

Now to the opening prices!

Couple of directors selling "to meet institutional demand".
One has kicked out 1.5m. He has a bit of petty cash in his pocket now.

Also some companies are overly bullish in their statements and some are conservative.

PI

A trading statement is unaudited and contains limited information on things like turnover, profit before tax, cash/debt balances and the outlook for the year with sometimes an estimate of turnover and profit.

Apad - regarding RSW - the trading update basically said what to expect figure wise - your a little more experienced than me so why should the results not be built in already after that update ?

With interest levels so low atm, borrowing moderate amounts of money is not too difficult. I seem to remember, in past boom times, that some people got into trouble with those debts when the tide turned. Not sure what reminded me about this today. I have never had the courage to use borrowed cash for ''gambling'' (I mean investment) but i did wonder if others might still be doing it. pete

janeann, my 'till the story changes' principle takes some sticking to, and I have bottled it on occasions (MCGN) to my chagrin.

However, better to run away ........

FEVR is now about twice what I paid for my house, so any sane advisor would say I should take profits, but I am staying savage on this bad baby.
However, I am still surprised at the market's reaction, as my cash flow spreadsheet said it would be like that if the story is on track. I guess they were being pessimistic.
It should fall back over the next few days, but I bet it doesn't.

Tried to buy some QTX towards close of play, but the funds didn't get through in time.

RSW on Thursday.

Scott is an accountant, ex FD of a clothing shop, Big.
What I like about him is that he admits his mistakes.
He would be the first to admit that he knows nothing about electronic wafers.
Doesn't mean he is wrong to be enthusiastic about IQE.
As I said, I admire the company - I just don't feel I know enough about its technology to buy.

Now, what was that Peggy Lee song?

Copper on the up again, ANTO and KAZ my preferred stocks to benefit.
All Passed a very important psychological level today. Once it is apparent world production isn't going to be enough and can't be increased quick enough the price is going to fly away again

Well done on Fevr, I always thought it was overpriced so didn't invest.
You like Scott don't you apad? He is very bullish unless tipsy on IQE

"Paul Scott
2:05am

IQE looks fantastic to me. I've backed up the truck on this one - I have an impulse to keep buying more. It's about my equal largest position in my personal portfolio. Can't find anything in BMUS to sell, to make room for it. I've just geared up in my personal portfolio.

The RNS about possibly having to majorly up 2018 forecasts, is something I rarely come across. Peel Hunt reckon the upside could be 12-15p EPS. If so, we could be off to 300-500p share price. That's the upside. May not happen. But looks exciting to me, so I'm all-in. Risk:Reward looks exciting, in my view. Please DYOR."

The rapid appreciation in FEVR after 2:30 may suggest a lot of interest from fund managers over the pond.

APAD,

Agreed, it's probably one to watch until it bottoms out. I guess the question is, at what price is the China disappointment priced in? PRV can be pretty illiquid and therefore prone to sharp movements.

Just seen today's (unexplained?) dip on PRV, so not so sure about my last comment.

PTSG - There was some loose stock available this morning at 127p, so I picked up a few to add to my position. I was quoted 127.1p to sell in size (10k) at the same time, so possibly a larger buyer around. Clearly plenty of PI interest today.

FEVR - Always difficult to call the price movement on results day, but I'm not surprised to see the shares up strongly. I would imagine that many would have expected growth rates to moderate (they used the word "comfortably ahead" in May, rather than the more positive "materially" or "significant"). The fact that UK growth is still running in triple digits, and Continental European growth has accelerated means they have surprised on the upside, I feel.

PRV - I don't hold, but I wonder if a BTFD opportunity is approaching? Still not an amazing bargain, but one I'm keeping an eye on.
