I see, a bit technical for me I like things simple. I may have to pay a bit more tax but heh ho

My decision to "downsize" is really paying off now, up 32.5k on that move

The miners have probably topped for a bit although KAZ is defying gravity, has always overshot wildly imo

ANTO is better for the ticker, so my largest hdg in sector-will double or treble from here as it becomes obvious there is a copper deficit
I Await the TA for IQE this week, should be very interesting
Charts of the small oilers look good for a bounce from here but I'm not feeling too adventurous so will stick with AMER and PMO for now, looking to increase both

Tried to trade in DOTD yesterday. IAB recognised the epic code but the quotes were not up to date so it didn't recognise the order either as market or limit. This is the same LSE AIM problem that Google and Yahoo have now solved.

PTSG director purchase.

DOTD good results as expected.

Sometimes IG doesn't recognise the ticker but if you type the company name in the search you will find it.If the listed company is not there, IG will get it up and running within a few minutes, whereas it will take days for some other brokers like HL.Another point to remember is that most brokers require the shares to settle in CREST, otherwise they don't deal with it, whereas IG has many more ways for share settlement. I guess this is more important for dealing in USA stocks. Also note the fx charges if you're dealing in USA shares, IG is one of the cheapest imo.

I have a relative who tried to buy shares in a particular company through both IAB and IG. Neither system recognised it. It was a SEAQ listed share (which TSTL also is). That might be the explanation.

TSTL is not known on Interactive Brokers.

Same for BVXP.

Could be preventing me from making the same mistake as with WEIR.

However, I predict a DOTD bounce tomorrow.

Precisely the point. The West Coast mainline cannot cope with the demand. Why do they need to dress it up as anything else?

HS2 is required because the current West Coast main line is saturated. So indeed passenger services are holding back freight.

A railway fiend, friend says that the real reason for HS2 is to separate passenger and freight lines. Nothing to do with high speed.
Woteva!

HS2 is going to be the biggest rip off since the last financial crash.
It beggars belief.

If you had just put up a sign and a boundary, the wildlife could have read it, relocated, in their own time, out of the affected area, and saved the time, trouble and expense :-)

HS2 that is - let's hope they make money out of it!

I have 4 acres of land that HS2 is cutting off the corner. They've already paid me thousands to look for rare wildlife!

Sold all of my Kaz now for a good profit. I only had a few.
When I return to the sector, I will probably return as Anto.
I will aim to BTFD as the sector and raw material prices will continue to remain volatile in the current economic climate.

I think that the construction has profitability problems in the short/medium term. There are too many comments about profitability on contracts. It seems like they were 'buying' contracts on terms that were too generous to the customer and cost escalations, delays and inefficiency is catching up with them for now. HS2 is a good news blip that will not start in earnest for some time yet.
I know that it is a generalization but I am in cautious mode. My 'C' shares are option money now, so that factor may be clouding my judgment.

Purp - staff on the ground are thin. They are facilitators who sign you up and let you get on with it. I am not sure how much in depth knowledge that they have, and certainly they are chasing their tails on managing vast property stocks well beyond their time availability.
Just MHO.

WEIR up 6.5%

ANTO doing very nicely with small increase in copper price, lots more to come

Bought some more KIER as I think I well undervalued

IQE tA should be this week, ahead of expectation I think

Re PURP, I used them two yrs ago, paid just £550, price has gone up since to about 8-900 no probs whatsoever, I know the prices well and the val from pb agent was higher than local ea so tried it and it sold at that price was very happy, same service if not better as est agent imho and made me extra 15k
