Agreed Mod but I changed tac when summer arrived and traded between them based on charts and earnings releases - best results for donkeys to be honest.Traded the consolidations - sold the spikes and moved on - lots of opportunity out there

APAD of course the only problem is if the story changes your holding might get cut in half before you have chance to do anything. That's the risk with the game we play though.AMZN still blazing a trail which has to be good for 'growth' stocks.

Hi mod,

I think growth stocks are best dealt with by making the right choice and sticking with them until the story changes.

Sine wave stocks can clearly be traded. RDSB is still 7% down on my sale price.

Couldn't disagree with you more about TESLA - it's a complete con.

The latest .gov nonsense has been foisted on the research councils and been decorated with utter bare-faced nonsense by drooling ministers.

07:00 hours tomorrow is FEVR time! Did I mention that earlier.

Apad, just catching up with the comments here.I think I have to disagree with you on TESLA, it has no competition, well not yet.Their electric cars do 0-60 faster than Porsche and they do almost 200 miles on a single charge. You can't compare that with Nissan leaf.Crucial week for me as well with many top holdings reporting.I have actually done a test of some stocks like KWS, GAW, G4M, FEVR, BOO, FDEV which I hold in both sipp and ISA. I have adapted "buy and hold" in SIPP, and tried trading them in my ISA. I have done that for the past 18 months, and my sipp is a winner by miles, so in a nutshell, buy and hold is the right strategy, at least in a bull market.

APAD, why don't you use the same method to get out of stocks, that you use to get in? Surely averaging out is sensible risk management.

I guess that is what the II's are doing when they reduce holdings that have become too large a percentage, through share price increases, of total holdings.

Hydrus, the target price I have is based on a chart pattern that has an ultimate target price of 565 [pence!]

Impressive that Andy from QTX contacted you to try and spread the word about their presentations Apad. Usually like pulling hens teeth trying to even get any acknowledgement from companies when asking about PR!

PI - Wish you luck. Seem like three very good holdings to me. Must be chuffed with their performance.

Lol like it APAD. Very comfortable with my QTX. You like Beddard don't you? Read an article on Moneyweek where he picked out QTX as one of his five stocks with 'intelligent fanatics' as owners. A term coined by an American I used to follow on twitter (but got bored of him and deleted twitter as realised it was a total waste of my time). I think TUNE was one of the five also which I hold. System1 was the third can't recall the other two.

QTX:

Our business and financial presentations will be posted on the Quartix investor site at around 7:15 on Wednesday morning. Both presentations are about 6 minutes in length.

The presentations will be posted here (at the top of the section): hxxps://www.quartix.co.uk/investors.php#vids and there will also be a pdf of the combined presentation.

We are trying to make sure that all investors get access to the same information at the same time – I believe you posted the link to the last ones on a couple of bulletin boards. I hope you don’t mind me asking a favour but if you do get a chance I would be grateful if you could do the same again.

If it is downright cheeky of of me asking then please ignore it. Let me know if you have any questions and we will try to answer them – we will be trying to get around to updating the FAQs on our investor site

Kind regards

Andy

BVXP has come alive top up at 1800 looking sensible currently. The market makes me a little nervous. Its been a very good year and therefore important not to get carried away and overconfident. I'm trying to manage positions, taking some profits in those where I have less conviction. However, i'd still bet that there is further to go (potentially a number of years of bull market) if pushed and I'm happy that the majority (not all e.g. PURP!) are proven high quality businesses. I won't be reducing or exiting those ones.

Agree with you on IQE Apad, very impressive presentation by the FD watched, really knows what the company is doing. But seems to be flying away like a balloon pricewise so can't see any value at the moment. Certainly will go on my list for when the music stops if there is a substantial correction. Like you a scaredy cat, having made big losses in the past I look for a safe entry point. The market seems to be pumping up prices on overpriced stocks we didn't look twice at a year ago when bargains were to be had. Party like it's 1999.
