11/4/2017 12:37 | Nope - still on the watch list. Now a disappearing speck against a bright blue sky. apad | apad
11/4/2017 12:10 | APAD Did you put it in your portfolio? red | redartbmud
11/4/2017 11:58 | KWS up 23% since I put it on my watch list! Good day today. apad | apad
11/4/2017 11:27 | >MJ 9703 - don't disagree about general effects of stock dilution, but in 2012 today's DIS was a completely different business called Blavod that was only just developing a new business strategy. In more recent times DG's plan is plainly starting to pay off and imo there is still a lot more growth/value to come over the next 2yrs. I have absolutely no interest in trying to persuade anyone, just saying. My holding now has a paper profit of 112% so I admit to some bias. Their next TU is at end April - unfortunately they rarely include any useful figures in their TU's, but they might offer some encouraging comments. Finals are in early June at which time we will all have some proper stats to dissect. GL, pete | petersinthemarket
11/4/2017 11:20 | Guiness & Cider was a poor boy's Black Velvet :-) KWS - indeed! Anyone any views about the consequences of the RDSB Nigeria row? apad | apad
11/4/2017 11:02 | I had watched RBG and jumped in when the CFO left. A quick 20% at the moment and only 3% of my porty but I am hopeful given the propensity for under 30's to keep blowing their earnings on overpriced booze. I have a 23 and 20 year old and £150 on booze on a night out is common place. I remember when a good night out was 3 pints of Hofmeister and a Pernod and black, those were the days. | fozzie
11/4/2017 10:36 | Neither do I apad KWS, still printing higher highs | modform
11/4/2017 09:48 | I don't share Scott's enthusiasm for RBG, j. apad | apad
11/4/2017 09:44 | RBG down sharply on no news as I can see | jitters3
11/4/2017 09:06 | Dlar might be worth a look. A few years ago, it went through a bit of a torrid time when management lost it's way. They seem to have overcome that, notwithstanding 'tallowgate'. Identity security has to be a growing business and coupled with plastic note printing, it provides growth opportunities. I would imagine that entry into the market has a high hurdle level. The tintins don't give it much of a rating at present, but are the behind the eight ball on this occasion? red | redartbmud
11/4/2017 08:49 | SKG on the move - at last! Should I hold for a spike up to the xd on 20 April and maximize my return? Decisions.... red | redartbmud
11/4/2017 08:38 | APAD Any company that has a CEO with a name like Benjamin Denys William Stocks deserves to be bought! red | redartbmud
11/4/2017 08:38 | Might get a RWS update soon, red. apad | apad
11/4/2017 08:31 | Porvair has made a good start to 2017 achieving revenue growth of 6% in the four months ended 31 March 2017. Underlying revenue(1) was 7% ahead of the prior year. Aerospace, US industrial and Seal Analytical all performed well. Progress towards commissioning large projects continues on track with very little revenue recognised compared with the prior period, as expected. Order books for the balance of the year are healthy. Shouldn't complain, I suppose. apad | apad
11/4/2017 07:52 | 2008 - those were the days, fozzie. Great decision. apad | apad
11/4/2017 07:48 | FT "While the stock’s 45 per cent gain so far this year must be music to founder Elon Musk’s ears, they are proving to be a headache for investors who have been betting against the company’s shares. According to Markit, almost 21 per cent of Tesla’s trade-able shares have been sold short." | apad
11/4/2017 07:29 | XPP another excellent statement. I have held since 2008 and barely seen anything else, included in Beddards 10 stocks to hold forever. Bought at 1.80 as well, if only all my investment decisions had been so good. | fozzie
11/4/2017 07:29 | APAD Yes, my initial purchase was pre-placing when I had done my initial research. Subsequent corporate activity should only serve to cement the ongoing development of the business. That is the theory any road up. red | redartbmud
11/4/2017 07:23 | Placing was 330p, red, so not a bad average I guess. Thanks for the heads-up. Applied graphene still headlining its fishing rods application :-) XPP excellent rns (don't hold - pity). Dave, yup (except for the "superior products"), I'd just love to fund a celebrity's vision. Not! apad | apad
10/4/2017 23:50 | APADWall Street Analyst, Piper on Tesla : "We sympathize with bears - but their (arguably rational) arguments probably won't matter. In many ways, TSLA seems to play by its own rules. The company burns through cash at a rate that better-established companies would likely be crucified for ... Tesla's production timelines are unreasonably fast. ... Yet, because of its superior products, loyal shareholders, and inspiring mission, TSLA remains unscathed." | discodave4
10/4/2017 19:55 | :-) I like the notion of dilution of a spirit, MJ. Tesla's had an upgrade. I'm starting to wish I knew about shorting (sorry, red)! Pete, barring political catastrophes I think the market is still undervalued. I know it's not a popular view, but I see the FTSE at 8000 plus, driven by the flakiness of western currencies (especially the pound). apad ps Fretting about the dominance of FEVR in my portfolio. pps BOO FY on the 26th - is there no limit on the issues to worry about! | apad
10/4/2017 19:32 | I just had a look at DIS and it's valuation seems to owe something to Homeopathy in that the greater the dilution, the greater the benefit. In 2012 the number of shares was 87.8 and in the last 12months 555 . This has a hugely beneficial effect on losses per share in that earnings per share trend towards zero and give the impression business is doing well whereas 2112 revenue was £4.58M and for the last 12 months £1.31M . As this thread is about Value/Growth, I fail to see any value . Not for me thanks. | melton john
10/4/2017 19:30 | Can hardly believe the continuing strength in the mkt and looks like the trend is set to run a while longer yet. Dis showing yet another strong increase today. At a recent presentation Don Goulding stated that he now valued the Red Leg Rum brand at several times the current dis Mkt cap. That thread has unfortunately started to attract new faces some of whom only seem to enjoy talking nonsense and chipping lumps off each other. EMH, IQE and VLG also going strongly today. My recent purchases JSG and SFR still not showing much movement but I'll give them a few more months to react before reconsidering. pete | petersinthemarket
10/4/2017 19:29 | Beware of Williamtroll Tara Tenbagman's latest Avatar - peddling the same POS though. Worth billions apparently. | kemche |
