19/4/2017 19:22 | I'm adding GSK fwiw, 1571.76 my lowest today, will have another look tomorrow. Advair (Seretide) has saved me several A&E visits, on generic in the UK. | essentialinvestor
19/4/2017 19:15 | ps Selling down for profits has been good in GSK too - stopped now. The tintins can only talk about Advair. Bound to have an effect. | apad
19/4/2017 19:14 | very impressive stats in 9865 'A' - don't you ever get frightened? - one rule of thumb is to halve your holding at 100% paper profit and run the rest for free. A number of your picks would qualify for a free ride. pete | petersinthemarket
19/4/2017 19:09 | LLOY I wonder how many skeletons have been crammed into the cupboard by Antonio? Sell when he announces he is moving on :-) apad | apad

19/4/2017 18:42 | BTW I've removed a couple of entries from the competition. They are by people who don't seem to post anywhere, let alone here, and their choices look like a random searches for risky growth stocks. When I publish at the end of April will you folks have a look at the entries so that I can exercise my newly found enthusiasm for euthanasia. apad ps BOO FY in a week. Gulp. Bought some BOO with RDSB profits 'cos I didn't know what else to do. I need to develop a more mature red and EI approach - perhaps :-) pps Also bought more BVXP. | apad
19/4/2017 18:17 | RDSA downgrade by Citigroup today not helped RDSB (stating the obvious I know!). | discodave4
19/4/2017 18:14 | ps PIs moving to SDX probably. | apad
19/4/2017 18:13 | Miserable day today - 0.6% of yesterday's all-time high. Started fretting about DIS at 1.8p, pete. FENR drifted back over the day - foreign currency effects, I guess. Looked at RDSA annual report. Nothing new on Nigeria in the risk section. SOU - made the mistake of not getting out when T8 disappointed. Plenty of information but I didn't get around to making the decision. PIs taking profits like crazy so I guess now is not the time to join the herd. Badile mid June. Parsons tub thumping next week. apad | apad

19/4/2017 11:09 | IGG strengthening again, as expected. Hindsight says it was a buy the dip at less that £5 for those with perfect timing. Still back in profit with a decent divi invested somewhere. apad | apad
19/4/2017 09:56 | A sickening thud on my EMH holding this morning. 73% gain down to 27% gain at the opening. Recovering somewhat now. Always rather speculative, but still wow. Anyway, same company, same prospects, so just hang on in there I think. pete | petersinthemarket

19/4/2017 09:38 | Posted this on ACSO board. No interest - all mouths and no ears, so no analysis. apad "I'm not sure that patents are the issue. Software is compiled code, so patents are relatively unimportant. Protecting the source code is the safest way of retaining intellectual property. Development over the years produces more and more function and efficiency. So, patents can be simply a sort of PR statement. Many companies with class software don't have patents at all. Much of a programer's time is spent annotating the source code to explain what it does. A friend estimated that he spent three times as long explaining the code as writing it. There may be something I don't know about with ACSO, but those are the general principles. Certainly, if ACSO's code can be easily copied it has a problem." | apad
19/4/2017 09:15 | VCT CEO retiring. Looks to be a smooth transition. SOU is week. apad | apad
19/4/2017 08:58 | Yesterday's news may be a positive for LLOY imv, all be it that HMG will want out asap as a 100% return to public ownership can be trumpeted during the campaign. HMG can sell up to 15% of the daily volume traded, from memory. | essentialinvestor
19/4/2017 08:02 | Lauders Risk/reward. It isn't sensible to put all of your chips on one spin of the roulette wheel, except on the rare occasion that the ball lands on your number. red | redartbmud
19/4/2017 07:53 | Cheers Red & Apad! Wish I had a lot more than I do though ;-) Never happy! Also thought FDEV might do well this year. Not into gaming but no some people are definitely "into it". | lauders
19/4/2017 07:49 | Copy from Money AM. They are supposed to be serious financial journalists. "The largest regional airline in Europe Flybe (FLYB) flied 0.6% to 40p as its chief financial officer Philip de Klerk resigned to take up the reins at another company." OMG what chance do we have? red | redartbmud |
