09/12/2016 19:04 | If you like resources sector and willing to look into the USA stocks, I hold FCX, copper producer in the early stage of recovery CLF, steel pellete producer in early stage of recovery TECK, Coking coal needed to run steel furnaces AKS, X, STLD, all manufacturer of steel parts used in infrastructure ARLP, CNCX, coal producers GATX, CSX, rails and some shipping used for transporting commodities and coal DPST, regional banks ETF leveraged x3 TNA MIDU, small and medium caps leveraged x3 DSX,NMM, a small gamble in case there's a turn around in shipping I got most of them the day after Trump's victory, so I am well up from the purchase price. please dyor. 09/12/2016 16:20 | Madmix, GAW - Peel Hunt have upped EPS from 44.7p to 57.9p for 2017. | cockerhoop
09/12/2016 16:16 | Doubled my IGG holding. apad | apad
09/12/2016 16:11 | Modform, Whilst I don't look at GAW as a long term growth story, I agree that the risk/reward is very good at these levels for a 3-6 month hold. Did Peel Hunt upgrade their forecast of £18.5m pre-tax after the trading statement? I only started buying in to the resource sector (AAL, FXPO, GLEN, KAZ, VED) at the end of October, adding on dips along the way. The gains so far have been impressive, but I have no intention of top-slicing yet. The GLEN deal certainly looks promising. | madmix
09/12/2016 13:34 | Ok madmix, good luck, hope it's a profitable trade. If the company gives the signal of significantly ahead before Xmas, they will smash the forecast imo. It is niche, has a lot IP, big margin, cash caw, a lot of cash on balance sheet and property free hold, good yield, blah blah. I might be biased as I hold. I got some GLEN yesterday below 300p, the Rosneft deal may prove to be transformational. I might say that as I have been very bullish on resources stocks. | modform
09/12/2016 12:40 | Modform, Volume in GAW picking up a bit today? Managed to get some stock at 615p by sitting on the bid. Might take a while to clear Phoenix's 1m+ shares, but so far they don't seem to want to sell below the 615p level. | madmix
09/12/2016 12:33 | Peter - Glad you are having a look at ITV. The bid talk has been long term you are correct but "no smoke without fire?". APAD - You can buy IGG a bit cheaper today! Wish you luck with your venture into the choppy waters. | lauders
09/12/2016 12:11 | DD. I don't have an opinion about SPD - if I did, it'd be pretty worthless :-) apad | apad
09/12/2016 08:50 | FFY takeover. | che7win
09/12/2016 08:46 | Interestingly, both BOO an FEVR have a couple of enthusiasts working their little socks off to make a successful business. cf "Sports Direct profits tumble as Mike Ashley takes on a corporate jet and strikes deal with daughter's company" | apad
09/12/2016 08:40 | Santa rally due anytime now - won't do my shares much good though. Seasonal performance for BOO and FEVR will rule my portfolio as they account for a third of its value. I not only wonder how I got into this position, but why I am comfortable with it? 250% capital appreciation helps, psychologically, I suppose, but that is just history. They just don't feel as risky as they are presumed to be - CAPITA/RBS/BP/etc. Because one can't produce a sensible, say PEG, for the likes of FEVR doesn't mean that it is appropriate to throw in the towel and classify it as overvalued. apad ps I increased FEVR at 1020 a few days ago (1000 would have been nicer, it is true :-) So, it seems I have entirely thrown out the balanced, low risk portfolio idea as a snare and a delusion beloved of the finance industry parrots. Wheeeeeee! | apad
09/12/2016 08:15 | ModformJust thought you were positive then seemed negative, didn't assume you were in.Appreciate though it's not your strategy (bottom fishing) but IMO a good investment doesn't discriminate - a profit is a profit.DD | discodave4
09/12/2016 07:45 | DD4, IGG is a good risk and reward as I think the fall is overdone, if you're prepared to buy and wait for the upturn, but this is not how I trade, some bottom fish, I don't. Just because I say I am with apad on IGG, it doesn't mean I have bought the share. | modform
09/12/2016 07:32 | IC RedT Speculative Buy :-) CLLN - buy. apad | apad
09/12/2016 07:30 | ps doesn't mean I haven't acted too quickly. pps Don't you just love this! "8 December 2016 | 12:30pm StockMarketWire.com - Numis today upgrades its investment rating on IG Group Holdings PLC [LON:IGG] to buy (from hold) and cut its price target to 590p (from 850p)." | apad
09/12/2016 07:26 | Germany - I thought that this was happening was already known :-( It is a consultation document. There are hundreds of companies and only a few class acts. Nanny state starter for a headline. Lobsters live on the bottom. apad | apad

08/12/2016 23:12 | Not my type of shares either red, bottom fishing is not a trading strategy, but it could be a good risk and reward at some point | modform
08/12/2016 22:08 | IGG - hot potato, too hot for me I'm afraid. Who dares wins? red | redartbmud
08/12/2016 21:46 | Also been taking a look at IGG, looks reasonable value now and decent yield (6%). 2018 eps forecast 28.9p PE16x.Still think it may fall some more once other regulatory bodies from other countries jump on the bandwagon, Germany now:hTTp://www.iggro | discodave4
08/12/2016 18:23 | Van Elle flying. Now why didn't I finish the research? Hmmm...... APAD No prostate now, no wet dreams. Hey Ho.... red | redartbmud |
