If you like resources sector and willing to look into the USA stocks, I hold

FCX, copper producer in the early stage of recovery
CLF, steel pellete producer in early stage of recovery
TECK, Coking coal needed to run steel furnaces
AKS, X, STLD, all manufacturer of steel parts used in infrastructure
ARLP, CNCX, coal producers
GATX, CSX, rails and some shipping used for transporting commodities and coal
DPST, regional banks ETF leveraged x3
TNA MIDU, small and medium caps leveraged x3
DSX,NMM, a small gamble in case there's a turn around in shipping

I got most of them the day after Trump's victory, so I am well up from the purchase price. please dyor. There are no liquidity issues, so I shouldn't be blamed for ramping.

Modform,

Whilst I don't look at GAW as a long term growth story, I agree that the risk/reward is very good at these levels for a 3-6 month hold. Did Peel Hunt upgrade their forecast of £18.5m pre-tax after the trading statement?

I only started buying in to the resource sector (AAL, FXPO, GLEN, KAZ, VED) at the end of October, adding on dips along the way. The gains so far have been impressive, but I have no intention of top-slicing yet. The GLEN deal certainly looks promising.

Ok madmix, good luck, hope it's a profitable trade.
If the company gives the signal of significantly ahead before Xmas, they will smash the forecast imo.
It is niche, has a lot IP, big margin, cash caw, a lot of cash on balance sheet and property free hold, good yield, blah blah. I might be biased as I hold.

I got some GLEN yesterday below 300p, the Rosneft deal may prove to be transformational. I might say that as I have been very bullish on resources stocks.

Modform,

Volume in GAW picking up a bit today? Managed to get some stock at 615p by sitting on the bid. Might take a while to clear Phoenix's 1m+ shares, but so far they don't seem to want to sell below the 615p level.

Peter - Glad you are having a look at ITV. The bid talk has been long term you are correct but "no smoke without fire?".

APAD - You can buy IGG a bit cheaper today! Wish you luck with your venture into the choppy waters.

Interestingly, both BOO an FEVR have a couple of enthusiasts working their little socks off to make a successful business.

Santa rally due anytime now - won't do my shares much good though.
Seasonal performance for BOO and FEVR will rule my portfolio as they account for a third of its value.
I not only wonder how I got into this position, but why I am comfortable with it?
250% capital appreciation helps, psychologically, I suppose, but that is just history.
They just don't feel as risky as they are presumed to be - CAPITA/RBS/BP/etc.
Because one can't produce a sensible, say PEG, for the likes of FEVR doesn't mean that it is appropriate to throw in the towel and classify it as overvalued.

ps
I increased FEVR at 1020 a few days ago (1000 would have been nicer, it is true :-)
So, it seems I have entirely thrown out the balanced, low risk portfolio idea as a snare and a delusion beloved of the finance industry parrots.
Wheeeeeee!

DD4, IGG is a good risk and reward as I think the fall is overdone, if you're prepared to buy and wait for the upturn, but this is not how I trade, some bottom fish, I don't. Just because I say I am with apad on IGG, it doesn't mean I have bought the share.
