"...Shares in the company have fallen in the past couple of months... on .. concerns that revenue from wealthy clients, making up a large part of overall revenue, might be slowing. The former stockmarket enthusiasm for hedging as a sure way to make money out of falling markets has also peaked.." (Shares mag today, re EMG)

GF

Thanks for the answer.

-Basically, if I got this right, if you had a bit of money ( ;-) ) would you put it all in Swiss currency ( for long term, no speculation ) ???

-Again, if you had to chose between Euro and Pound, where would you put it ( again, long term ) ???

ps. The good thing about you charging for your service will be that I could ask you as many questions as I could think of ( agreed ??? ).
As for the bad thing, right now you are available 5 days a week from early morning to late at night ( free of charge ), once you'll start charging us .... there, 3 days a week, ......life is not fair :-(

Please make it affordable.

"..The Fed is trying to do what it can, but the history of the past 200 years is that big booms tend to end badly -- big equity market booms in particular," said Robertson of Macquarie Equities. "The Fed so far has done a magnificent job of holding the show together, but we don't know what effects of the bubble are still in the pipeline..."

Some closing just below support today that could be good if you catch them early tomorrow - HSBA (640), VOD(110) and SN.(350) to name a few. Any others to consider?

Well, if the FTSE gets whacked 90 odd points tomorrow that is sure going to put off the boys who just played the bounce today.
Once bitten, twice shy.
A good kicking in the nuts and they'll learn to keep their hands in their pockets longer.
Poor old ainsoph, TAD down 9% today, failed at the 21 day ma and he still has to contend with a big down day tomorrow.
Oh well, thats life - if you play dare running across a motorway, one of these days you'll get caught in the fast lane !

I think it ought to be TANK after the Japanese Tanken report.
Any similarity to market action will be purely coincidental.

well after supposed to be doing my tax return I got really bored, and shorted up in the afternoon. partly because I was impatient, and partly because I find listening to goodfella helps my wealth, and his upside target for the dow seemed to be hit.

hope I picked the right ones.

anyway new thread tommorrow.

whats the name ????

( and we're allowed pictures back now but no bears with hookers apparently after last time ).

do you want it back yet moonie, or shall I look after it for a bit longer?

Just one thing here, it would be very easy to imagine this is the end of 7955 and above, the Dow closed just below support, which may or may not be enough to suggest support is now broken, thing is I've seen it bounce back from similar positions too many times in the past to feel that its definately all over just yet....as much as I'd like it to be, what is particularily nice though is that my UK shorts should get a decent roasting in the morning.....

edit: just seen the dow below 7900.......at 7895..... futures will need to be strong in the morning to rescue the situation....how quickly things can change.

grim indeed griss if you are the wrong side of the news.

Just trying this out to see if it gives a "call" to the market trend each day

Not sure about impact of Far East yet on the basis of a money baton being traded around the world mainly by computers,
