Read what JakNife has pointed out. Or the editor of shareprophets.

It has a 20% stake in a company doing a desktop analysis of a potential gas block, and from memory only about 5m quid assets claimed on its balance sheet in the last accounts.

That's hardly worth about 180m quid, which is what a 14p offer would amount to.

What's next is the constant dumping of warrant shares until such times as the warrant holders are persuaded to hold.

100 million warrants exercised now hasn't come out of nowhere. Its on the back of the 14p indicative offer.

So what's happening is the money you paid to purchase the shares after the offer announcement is being stripped out by the warrant holders.

Im very bullish here because no one just comes in and bid 14p a share when share price was under 3p.Ive just recently start following upl, the asset is in great location large fields around it.What percentage do upl hold of the license?Upl have stated they will not raise cash for drilling via dilution. So this is positive.Just trying to get my head around this.

henrymcivor1 - That's how the system works. Governments award licences to little oil tiddlers because no major is interested at the very early stages. If any notable resources are proved up it can take decades for the tiddler to raise sufficient money via the equity markets to develop the field it most cases they don't.

If a government is approached by a company that has the financial clout to develop the field immediately without having to rely on capital raises then they are given the green light.

The Malaysian government could say to Upland - "look you have a financial backer we're not allowing you to go any further with this unless they're on board".

That's how this end of the natural resources market works.

The tweet is the company fighting off the bid. The problem is they do not have the cash to develop the field. All they can do is return again and again to the equity markets depressing the share price even further.

Governments want to see development cash on the table not promises to raise equity. This is why the Malaysian government would favour the ownership of the licences in the hands of those who have the cash to develop the prospect immediately.

PWhite73 - Nothing to worry, this is normal trading pattern. share price will go up as volume picks up. Story of an old man that wanted to get to floor 20 as the lift broke. He initially went up very fast but when he got to 6th floor, he was exhausted. On the 3rd floor was a rest room and a kitchen, so he went back down to 3rd floor, took a rest had some food and then started walking the stairs again but this time slowly. same happens with share price during takeovers.

Oils, I'm not so sure about long term holders exiting at the moment. I know a lot of 4, 5 and 6 year holders with decent sized holdings who have no intention on selling up for while yet. The PSC will be wrapped up soon then the potential size of the asset will be know. Just need to read between the lines on company tweets and presentations to guess what size it is.

Yes as I posted earlier its no coincidence that a 100 million warrants are coming to market during the offer period. This is where the sells are coming from warrant holders cashing in. Some warrant holders will hold for further news. At the same time there is a battle between long and short institutions. Together these limit the price rise where everybody who bought on the offer news is still underwater.

The deadlock will be broken when there is further news on the offer.

All this was actually was another way how these small cap stocks are manipulated and pumped so folks can offload They are likely the gang who have lots of warrants and went long got the fake bid in and dumped all their stock warrants and then went from long to short and now will cash in on way downThere is so much pressure selling here
