17/8/2004 13:32 | Anyone any idea when the results are due(5th sept last year).I have been thinking of buying back in to this stock for a while ,but given the agm statement i am expecting the interims to be `not great` so may wait until these are out of the way. | ![]() jwe
09/8/2004 18:48 | The spread has got even worse. Now 20p to 25p. I want a tighter spread before I consider buying. I don`t think this is the right time to be buying shares anyway. | ![]() tyranosaurus
04/8/2004 20:02 | I'm with you tyranosaurus . . . Always moves lower on piddly volumes. The First Remit story should transform this company so just use the weakness to add to your holdings and bank the generous dividend. Can't see it getting re-rated overnight but if you are an investor rather than a trader then these should reward us on a 3-5 year view. | ![]() 40plus
05/7/2004 21:27 | Maut too- Many thanks for your comments i will research a bit further to get up to speed on more recent developments and may start to build a small stake again. ps at the moment i feel OYS looks very promising(i hold quite a lot)and also maybe SGI | ![]() jwe
05/7/2004 17:07 | I hold because the management have a big stake - they are paying good divs which should continue as they hold lots (I just took the script) - they seem to have established the way forward and I think they will now become increasingly profitable 14.05.04 :+2, (28) at the AGM chairman said: "Between April 2003 and April this year the number of money transfer transactions completed by First Remit grew at an average of 8% per month compound. This is in spite of the fact that in the second half of that period the company restrained transaction growth while it strengthened the management and control systems, and reduced costs. This has meant that, although breakeven will be later than anticipated, the company now has a more efficient business and will soon be ready to increase the rate of growth. Universe expects First Remit to be making a cash profit month-on-month before the year is out. Universe's closures programme for the bureaux de change is designed to restore some measure of profitability to that activity; recent weeks have been profitable in Paris, its main area of activity. With a strong order position at HTEC Universe is, all in all, anticipating a good year, and again the second half of the year will be considerably better than the first." All resolutions put to the meeting were passed by the shareholders. | ![]() maut too
05/7/2004 16:47 | Maut too- Noticed you were into this share,i used to hold but got out in the mid 30`s,now looking interesting again ,would be grateful if you could sum up the current advantages as you see them. | ![]() jwe
26/6/2004 09:05 | I took the script and did so last time with the intention of rolling up. I have a relatively modest holding but add a few from time to time. Management have a big stake and seem to know what they are doing. Trading looks to be getting better. I think we are towards the bottom end of the current price range and will improve with the markets and with results. Not an exciting share with little press cverage but I am relatively happy we will outperform over the next 12 months | ![]() maut too
26/6/2004 05:37 | Nice to see Warrants taken up and the maximum allocation. They were issued a year ago and the price has moved back from arround 40p, we have had a div reduction plus an up-beat trading statement within that year. IMHO I would have thought that RBS will have asked some questions i.e. are Universe still on track for better than expected H2 results, as stated in the trading statement. Could be a time to stock up. I keep buying and averaging down having bought into Universe as a fledgling share buyer in the days of the TECH BOOM. -------------------- Universe Group plc (the 'Company') Exercise of Warrants On 30 June 2003 West Register (Investments) Limited ('West Register'), a wholly owned subsidiary of Royal Bank of Scotland Plc, was granted a warrant to acquire a maximum of 1,874,900 Universe ordinary shares at a price of 211/2 pence per share, exercisable on or before 30 June 2004. The Company has been notified yesterday that West Register has exercised its warrant and has therefore acquired 1,874,900 Universe ordinary shares. Accordingly, application has been made for 1,874,900 new ordinary shares to be admitted to trading on the Alternative Investment Market on Tuesday 29 June 2004. Following the exercise of these warrants, the Company has 58,800,422 ordinary shares in issue. 25 June 2004 | ![]() dealit

02/6/2004 14:54 | worth noting that ennismore are not your usual fund manager. they are the cream of the cream and in a different league to most. returns since launch in the late 98 have been high (micropal ranking large and small cap, 1 out of 560, 1999-2003) while everyone else was dropping big time. their funds are closed to new investors and the smaller cos non hedge has a waiting list of 164 to get in. its rare to see them appear on an rns and they are still buying. its enough to make me want to investigate this company... | ![]() rambutan2
